BassnChris Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 My last interaction with Motorguide regarding their quick mount did not go well for me. I was fishing for the first time using my xi5 on the road trip and while I'm on my deck fishing my remote falls to the deck.....the plastic part where the lanyard attaches has just fallen away! I submitted an email Tuesday afternoon asking if I could purchase a replacement remote cover. No email to my response as of yet..............but when I get home this afternoon (Thursday) I find a box containing a new remote for my xi5 from Motorguide ! Pretty great in my opinion. 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 3, 2015 Super User Posted April 3, 2015 Refresh my memory. Didn't you have issue with them after the last motor fell in the lake? Quote
BassnChris Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Yes...I was not only unimpressed with their decision to not stand behind their quick release bracket.....I was beside myself. I will never buy another one from them. I bought a quick release bracket for a minnkota from I think skeeter boats.....modified it and it works perfectly so far. Here is the story to which he refers. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/139700-motorguide-xi5-mounted-on-quick-release-plate-not-a-good-ideasplash/ Quote
