I used one for the first time yesterday. Doesn't act like the chatterbait at all. If I reel it the least bit too fast, it just comes to the surface. My chatterbaits stay down. Am I missing something? Is that the way it's supposed to work?

It's seems to work best with a fairly slow retrieve.

I've had success with both the 3/8 & the 1/2 but they had to be worked slow to keep them low.

Early season, mid to fairly shallow & at night, have been the better for me.

Also, it's a good choice when you want to work high through cover as you can work it slow and this ones comes through a little cleaner.

Keeping the trailer on the small side helped; 4 inch swim senko is good.

Thanks A-Jay, that being the case, the slow retrieve should be perfect for the ice water that I'm fishing right now.

I had the same thing happen. The 1/2oz stays down better along with lighter line and holding the rod tip low.

Slow ticking grass or the bottom. I fished the rig with Big O using an Eliminator for

the trailer. We trimmed the sides so it looked like a long eel. I also fish it with the

Rage Structure Bug and skirt removed with a Cut-R, tail down.
