Junebugman Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Just wondering I'm from turtle lk where ya going for the opener long range looks cool around first week in may Quote
Super User Scott F Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 I'll be up in Oneida/Vilas county area for 17 days beginning May 9. Considering the ice went out up there on May 8 the last two years, I'm sure glad to see it breaking up right now. Quote
Ondrejka Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Grew up in Wisconsin fishing my whole life, moved to KS in 2000 when I was 13. I miss it every single day. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 6, 2015 Super User Posted April 6, 2015 I did grow up in Milwaukee and I did guide in SE Wisconsin lakes untill last year and I moved to Table Rock Mo.! Best thing I ever did! Quote
wisconsin heat Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I'll probably do some pond hopping around the Eau Claire area. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted April 9, 2015 Super User Posted April 9, 2015 Another Wisconsinite here. I'm not sure where I'll be on opener this year yet but I'll be somewhere that's for sure! Quote
Shockwave Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I'm in the SE Wisconsin area. I'm sure I'll be on one of the various lakes around here on the opener. Probably either Pewaukee Lake or Wind Lake. Quote
'Bago-Bassin' Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Opener?!...What's this strange thing you all speak of? Just kidding. Since I've been on the Winnebago system (since 2000) I haven't had to worry about the opener. I just fish whenever. Actually I do think about the opener because that means that it's positively nuts everywhere up there. Due precisely to the avalanche of people that didn't/don't know that they don't have to wait. Upwards Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Not from Wisconsin but I fish a lot in the Bayfield/Iron River area very frequently. Probably hiting the St. Louis river up for opener. Quote
Klebs01 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I'm in the milwaukee area. Probably heading to pewaukee for the opener. Hoping to get out on the wine bag system before then. How has the fishing been up there? Quote
KYBassin' Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Originally from WI here but moved out of state about 13 years ago...still miss everything outdoors about the state. Make it up about 1 or 2 times a year to fish. Quote
mrc.in.wi Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Sturtevant, Wi is home. I always hit Big Cedar in opening day. LM fishing in spring is awesome. Most rec boaters aren't out til June. June is time to hit Sturgeon Bay, Wi. SM fishing is really great. Also rotate in Winnebago chain and Peewaukee Lake. Never been west or North west, to little time, to many lakes. Quote
Shockwave Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I'm heading up to Door County this weekend for some fishing. I'm going with a buddy who mainly fishes for musky (which I don't have the patience for) but I'm sure we'll get into some fun fish up there! Quote
Shockwave Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 The Door County trip was AWESOME!! We SLAYED the Pike up there. Got into a couple Walleyes as well. They were all prespawn and the females are quite fat!! Quote
johnfl Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I lived up north vilas and Oneida county for many years and have a family resort up north. It's gods country up there! I fell in love with fishing and hunting when I moved there when I was young. Caught tons of fish. Best place on earth. I currently live in south Florida and dream of moving back everyday Quote
