papajoe222 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The bats from Bean Town are coming alive down in FL and despite some injury problems I believe the Red Sox are poised to repeat another 'last to first' ride. There is just so much talent on their bench and in their bullpen that I can't see them repeating last year's dismal season. Being an ex Cub fan, I can't help but think that their fans are headed for another let down by a team that could, in any other city, be alive late into the post season. I'm thinking Cards or Giants and Boston or Seattle in the series. Who is your favorite and which teems do you see still playing ball in September? Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 As a Life Long Boston Red Sox Fan - The Worst to First to Worst to . . . . Hopefully First Again roller coaster has been pretty crazy. I'll probably watch almost every inning of every game again this year, always do. Another Banner would be very Cool. A-Jay 1 Quote
ColdSVT Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Hoping to see my Tampa Bay Rays in the playoffs! Quote
EmersonFish Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'm a Cardinals fan. I can tell you that if the Card's starting rotation isn't plagued by injuries, like it has been in recent years, they are going to be really good. Quote
SDbassin Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I've been a diehard Angels fan my whole life, I really hope we can get our stuff together once the playoffs come around lol. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 As a Rangers fan, well I can only hope that they don't finish in the cellar. 1 Quote
Dyerbassman Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Cubs, of course. Actually, I think that they are a year away from being competitive. But I like their young talent and Joe Madden is a quality manager 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 yeah, the phillies are going to stink yet again this season. I am not even going to get the MLB package this season.....well i say that but i probably will still ned up getting it lol Quote

The starting 5 is too dominant, even if their offense is lacking a little. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 The nationals will put up another good record from beating up on their sorry division and then get beat in the playoffs, just like the past few years. Their best shot was the year they mismanaged Strasburg and were clicking on all cylinders and instead of working his innings like they should have throughout the entire season in a manner that lets him pitch in the postseason, they just shut him down assuming they would be back. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 I'm excited to see how Giancarlo Stanton plays in the first year of that $325 million contract he got. Especially since he hasn't played a real game since getting hit in the face. The NL central should be pretty crowded at the top too, with or without the Cubs. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 Go Cards! All the way! Quote
Mccallister25 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Nats are likely to be strong this year. Miami too. The year probably won't be too kind for me. Atlanta is projected to finish fourth in the division. Quote

Im a Nats fan here. I must say, i dont think Strasburg has pitched as good as he did since that year they shut him down. But it also doesnt help their bats have gone cold the last 2 postseasons in '12 and '14. I still think they shouldve kept michael morse and adam la roche go in free agency...Nats are entering the year kind of banged up, im just waiting to hear about a bryce harper or pitcher injury next. Rendon will start the season on the DL with a sprained MCL. I hope the Nats can find a way to keep Ian Desmond on the team beyond this season(or even this season in full), he was rumored in trade talks and cant agree on a long term deal either. He is my favorite Nationals player. A lot of people here loved relief pitcher Tyler Clippard, but i was absolutely not impressed by him as it seems he was always blowing leads and games, so glad he got traded. he always made things way more interesting than they had to be. Hate to see a 17 game winner last year in Tanner Roark go back to the bull pen this season, i hope max scherzer is the real deal. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 2, 2015 Super User Posted April 2, 2015 I am not a Nats fan but being a Phillies fan and being in their local market, i have seen them play a lot. The year with Strasburg and the innings limit was a special year for them. They had many players having career type years and they blew their shot by mismanaging his innings. He was pitching very well that season too. I also like desmond and as far as harper goes, I think he is a head case who if he can get that together can be a solid player but i don't think it is going to happen anytime soon. Clipart also had his run but like most relievers, it was short lived. They are going to be trotting out a solid pitcher every night which should keep them in most games and combine that with the sorry state of the division, i see no reason they don't get 95+ wins, or more. matuka Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I will never, ever, count my Giants out. They never look good on paper, but three rings in five years.....I'm a believer. 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 2, 2015 Super User Posted April 2, 2015 I quit following MLB after the last strike so for this year I want the Yankees and Tampa Bay Whatevers to win it all. Quote

shanksmare Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I started out as a Boston Braves fan. I was torn as my Grandfather was a diehard Red Sox fan and my Dad was a Braves fan. We continued to be Braves fans even after the Braves moved to Milwaukee. Somewhere along the line we transitioned into becoming Red Sox fans. It would be nice to see a huge improvement in the team over last season. I went to a spring training game against the Yankees. A lot of players in that game with numbers in the 70's and 80's. Its tough to watch baseball after watching the Bruins. I hope they speed up the game. It becomes a bore watching 4 + hour games. No MLB channel this year. If the Red Sox can;t do it, then I'd like to see a team that hasn't won it in a long time like the Cubs do it. 1 Quote
hoosierbass07 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Go Cubs! I used to be a big time Cubs fan but have lowered my passion for them since they lose so much. Not only that, with the new owners, the local FM radio station that used to carry all the Cubs games here in west central Indiana did not renew the Cubs broadcast rights. So that means no more Cubs on FM here. Plus, the powerhouse WGN AM station in Chicago lost their rights to carry the Cubs. Plus, the WGN Super Station on cable TV has lost their rights to carry the Cubs (only local WGN in Chicago has some of the games). If the new owners of the Cubs are telling me and other fans in the midwest to go jump off a bridge then he's doing a good job at it. It's getting almost impossible to follow the Cubs. I do get the MLB channel on cable but I noticed some of the Cubs spring training games have been blacked out. I don't get that since I don't get any other channel that airs the Cubs games. Quote
justhere Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Let's go Bucs. Lets go Bucs. Hopefully they can put it all together this year and get to a Series. Quote
