mrc.in.wi Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 With lower gas prices, more trips to Sturgeon Bay. Also I barely fished jigs last year. Might explain my off year. Going back to them as my staple. Learn hollow swimbaits and bladed jigs. Quote
Hurricane Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 To enjoy another great summer of fishing and teaching my 2 boys how to fish...but my ten year old daughter already knows.. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted April 10, 2015 Super User Posted April 10, 2015 My smallie goal for the year is to break my pb. I've got a pretty decent shot at it I think since I'll be out on Sturgeon Bay/Green Bay for close to a week. Quote
JoePhish Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I've recently moved from South Florida to East Tennessee. While in FL I targeted and consistently caught LMB in freshwater. Here in TN I want to do the same but with SMB.That is my main goal of the year. I have had a hard time of it so far. In my handful of excursions so far I've caught LMB, Spotted Bass, Crappie, White Bass, Striped Bass and Black Drum as well as a snagged Carp that took me for a Nantucket Sleigh-ride....but no Smallies. I know I need to start thinking like a Smallmouth in order to catch them. Right now I'm reading In-Fisherman's book on Smallmouth. Their book on LMB helped me immensely so I hope this one will do the same. This year I also decided to become a kayak fisherman. Figured with no gators or sharks it's safe now. (Go ahead call me a wuss, lol.) My other goal is to become skilled and knowledgable at what it takes to become a proficient kayak fisherman. So far this is progressing fine though this week the Tennessee River plus a bunch of wind kicked my butt a bit. Quote

Mothercanucker Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 5lb Smalliie, learn and adapt to better day to day patterns that change from weather throughout the day. Quote
ckylec Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I would like to become A LOT more versatile. Right now, If I can't catch it on a texasrig/shaky head or a spinner bait, I ain't catching it. I'd like to become a lot more familiar with my two home lakes. Quote
