Hello everyone? I haven't been on here since last year due to, well.. LIFE! lol anyways, looking for other fello fishermen in lancaster county. I have only been in PA for a few years so I am looking for some good Bass holes. I love all kinds of fishing but Bass is my favorite. I have tried a few places lately but the water is terribly cold, which is normal for this time of year. But wow this weather is annoying. Anyone agree? My good friend and I have scouted out some places. He showed me the susqhanna as well. But do any of you know of any lakes/ponds/quarry's?

Thank you fellas and have a good one!

I'm just up the road in Carbon County. Been in PA for 11 years so I feel you pain.

Did you get any snow today? We got 2 inches!

No just some light rain. But when I was working earlier out by Pottsville/Tamaqua they were getting some. This weather is awful. Oh yeah I heard some guys mention Pinchot. I'm also going to try Ontellnue this year. I pass it every day at work.

I live in Lancaster and there aren't many size able bodies of water other than the susky. Most waters are electric motor only lakes. Muddy Run is a pretty good bass lake. Most creeks will hold smallmouth. Other than that there's not much. Look on google maps and try to find some new places. I do a lot of fishing outside of Lancaster.

Thanks jd. I have heard that a lot around here. I always look for ponds/quarry's whatever. Yeah I heard muddy run is heavily pressured like many other places. I just love fishing and my son does too. 4 years  old and that's all he wants to do lol

Thank's again

ps: where do you fish outside of Lancaster?

Jdl, where'd you hook that fish in your avatar, the Susky? Doesn't the Conestoga hold some fish? I love Google Earth for hunting new water to fish. Too many times ppl over look farm ponds. Once you find promising water, take a drive, it never hurts just to ask. Be polite, respectful,to the point. It has been very rewarding for me. I now have a half dozen ponds, all an easy drive, most on my way to work, that I fish, all because I just asked.

Your location says you live in Akron, so I'm gonna assume you live close to Lititz/Ephrata. The Hammer, Middle, and Cocalico creeks are all right around your neck of the woods and hold smallmouth over the summer. I live in Manheim close to Lebanon, so I've spent a lot of my time up there. There's a number of different lakes in Lebanon. Lake Ebeneezer would be perfect for you and your son. There's bank access nearly the whole way around. Lots of fishing pressure but not bass specific fishing pressure. I've crushed the bass in there using squarebills and lipless cranks. There's also trout in there, apparently. You just have to watch out for snapping turtles. Honestly, every body of water, unless its a private pond, experiences lots of fishing pressure in Lancaster.

The fish in my avatar was caught at a place that I've been sworn to keep secret. It was not the Susky though. I don't fish the Susky at all, as I feel it's not worth my time. I fish the Swatara creek flowing into the Susky for smallmouth. The Conestoga holds some smallmouth, but from the research I gathered a while back, it appears to be more of a carp river. There's a lot of info about Lancaster fishing areas on a fly fishing forum for PA (can't mention it because I think it will show up as censored).

Yeah Jd I'm right between Lititz and Ephrata. I tried cocalico a few times, just little fish. And I agree most or every place is heavily fished. I think I got spoiled growing up in North Eastern Ohio, most the lakes, ponds and quarry's there were empty most of the time. But thank you for the good info man.

Tracker, we fished the heck out of both! lol the pond we caught all kinds of Bass,Crappie and other fish, Caught a few big ones too. As for the Quarry, I have fished it a ton and never caught anything except a little tiny bass. I have heard a lot of old timers coming by there that there is big fish in there though. I havent seen them or caught them yet.
