I'm set on trying to catch fish on a swim bait this year. I've always heard good things about the netbait paca craw so I saw a sale the other day and bought 5 packs. I used them today and I'm really disappointed in the movement from the claws. What other trailer do you guys like?

Paca craws are better on a jig or T-rig but I have used them on a swim jig with good results. Some others that are good is a Grass Pig. 5 in.grubs,Zoom swimming grubs,a paddle tail swimbait,Netbait 4 in. frog, ribbon tail worm cut down.Ect.

I'm confused. Are you talking about a "swim jig" or a swim bait? Two different animals. If you are talking about a jig trailer, then the Paca Craw is hard to beat. If you want more action, try a Rage Craw. But I've never had any problem with the PC myself.

If you are talking swim baits, then you need to clarify why you are putting a trailer on them?

I like throwing a 5" Big Bite Bait Cane Thumper on them, or a grub. Haven't had a hard time catching them on either.

X4....but, just for S&G, I google/imaged "swimbait trailer" and got all kinds of new and off-the-wall ideas.  Thanks, OP

I'm sorry guys, yes swimJIG! The paca craw doesn't even flap so I don't know what the hip was with that. I have heard good things about the rage craw

Rage craw flaps like crazy!  I've had good luck with the paca craw, but usually the baby paca craw.  Maybe the bigger one doesn't work as well...I have no idea.  I like the big bite baits swimming craw and the rage craw for swim jigs.  5" grubs, twin tail grubs and 5.5" big bite baits cane thumpers can be really good trailers.

Rage Menace grubs, Trigger X Flappin Craw in 3-4",  Slop Hopper in 3.5".  Just have to find what works good for you.  But have used PC as well will okay success, but they don't have a lot of action which at times is what they seem to want.

I think the bulk of your jig is diverting water from your paca craw. Those things kick like crazy. Guys out here use them like a horny toad. Try positioning it further back on the hook so it will catch more water. Personally I like the Keitechs and Big Hammers foe baitfish imitators and Chiggercraws for dads.

A good swim jig trailer is a fat albert or big bite curl tail grub.  5".  A single tail or double tail works. I prefer the single tail.  You should trim the skirt on the swim jig if it is close to touching the action of the trailer.  Also, with the single trailer it works best if you thread it on the jig hook with the curl tail straight down.  It will run better.  If it runs crooked your trailer is off center.

Twin tail grubs, Rage craws and Rage Menace are what I use.

I like 3.5" to 4" soft plastic swim baits as a trailer on my swim jigs, they just flat out work but there are times when the rage craw is just killer.
