Got a Team Lite...love it. The more I use it, the more I like it.

I'm thinking about getting one more reel. (I have a Team Lew's and Team Pro) Most likely going to get one more reel with the ACB setup instead of MSB so I have two of each.

Does anyone have time on both?

The Team Lite has one more ball bearing (assuming it's levelwind)...is the BB-1 just as smooth as the Team Lite?

I know the BB-1 is supposed to be smooth and nice...so I'm not interested in hearing..."Well I don't have any time on the Team, but my BB-1 Pro is smooth as silk"...comments.

Anyone with some time on both reels?

I just got the bb-1 pro, haven't fished it yet but it's SWEET. I've played with the lite before and like it as well. If you're using it for cranks/jerkbaits I'd go with the bb1-pro. You really can't go wrong, both reels are top notch.

I don't own both. But I have fished with the bb1 extensively. My opinion is that it is one hell of a reel. It casts 1/4 ounce lures extremely well, has good cranking power and is glassy smooth. Performance wise, I'm sure that you wouldn't be disappointed if you purchased one.

Booty...good to hear. That was a big concern.

Mista Bass...all of my setups are multi purpose as I am a bank fisherman. Though certain times of year will be spent fishing certain types of baits more than others...they must all be versatile.

Poolshark...good to hear...the Lite will Chuck a quarter a country mile too...but the BB-1 Pro has to be even better given the design. I think I may have to pull the trigger on one. I like that they can be found for under $150...whereas the Lite seems to be hovering in the $180-190 range.

If you need help deciding further.... Tackletour did reviews on some of the lews reels which were pretty in depth. If you haven't read them, they might come of use to you. Hope that helps

Both are versatile reels but if you're looking for casting distance the bb1 pro casts further. I can let you know how it holds up after I get some time on the water with it.

Okay brotha'....it's been 3 months. Spill it. What do you think about the pro?

I feel like the lite is the "updated" bb1 pro. Same finish, lighter and same braking. The lite is a sweet reel and I was lucky enough to get a steal on a display one

I paid 175 for my BB1 Pro. Fantastic reel.

i just recently got a Tournament Lite reel , put the Lew's 95mm carbon handle on it , revo EVA large knobs , boca ABEC 5 ceramic spool bearings it it and it is a helluva reel , i couldn't see spending a $100 more dollars on a reel cause this reel casts everything very good . all that talk about carbon frames twisting and flexing , not on this reel .

i'm looking to get a BB2 pro from Lew's and have them put 5.1:1 gears in it , gonna make a beastly swimbait reel ..

I don't quite think so. I still think the BB1 has the potential to cast farther because it has a larger diameter spool so it won't have to spin as fast to lose the same amount of line and it also has a lot more capacity so the spool will remain a more consistent speed because it doesn't get down to the core of the spool as quickly.

The BB1 will still be more of a bigger bait reel, but the Lite is probably more of a finesse bait reel.

This is just physics, engineering, and specs talking. I haven't used a BB1 Pro (yet).

From what I've read...the BB1 just starts to come to life with a 1/4-3/8 oz bait. The LFS reels will also cover the spectrum beneath that very well...but I surmise the BB1 will chuck 1/2-1 oz baits much better.

Not to mention that Scout said the BB1 will cast braid, mono, & floro equally well.

If the LFS reels were made to replace or upgrade the BB1...then they'd be offered similarly configured. As it sets, the BB1 still gets a PS1 multi stop configuration for cranking.

also the spool weights are much different. The team lite has a 12.5 gram spool to handle lighter lures.

Good point. The Lite is pretty phenomenal with little baits. The Pro G is running a different spool. Fewer ports. Probably heavier.
