HookdUP Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Curado 200i 6.3 ... Will cover everything ... If you can handle the 7.2 all the time get the hg 1 Quote
SenkoGuru Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 There are a great deal of good baitcaster out right now to choose from. The Daiwa Tatula is fantastic, Shimano Curado I is great, A bunch of Lew's reels like the BB1 Pro reels are good too. Quote
CRANKENSTIEN Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I just got a 73 MH ghost paired with a Lews bb1 7:1 left with McCoy 15 lb copolymer. I love it and it could be used for most any application. I also own a taula and would reccomend it as well Quote
Tmmytomato Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 As an all around speed for a baitcaster I'd recommend something in the mid 6-1 ratio range (6:2, 6;5) rather than a 5.5 or even a 7.1. Reason being it is a great all around utility speed for small cranks, bigger cranks, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. Too slow and you'll wear yourself out with buzzbaits and small cranks but great for very large cranks. Too fast and you'll kill yourself with larger cranks and possibly move swim jigs too fast to keep them down a little in the water collumn. Quote
Theangler1 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I have that same rod, I went with a New Lews reel called the speed spool LFS (lighter faster stronger) I throw 12 pound flouro on it and it casts like a dream through the micro guides. If you plan on throwing heavier than 17-20 pound line, that reel may not be for you as it is very low profile and small. Great reel and can be found on the bay for around 90$ Quote
