Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 30, 2015 Super User Posted March 30, 2015 You have caught peacocks @ lake Ida bridge, they are still there, also all the way back in the park by the canal there is platform, I've caught them there. I'd use a topwater lure because of the vegetation. They are pretty much any where in the El Rio canal, near bridges and culverts are good spots, plenty of foot access. I prefer fishing them on foot, I can walk the banks and sight cast. Quite often I have to tease them with multiple casts, crappie jigs and in line spinners work well for that. I know for an absolute fact they can be caught near where you stay, I've caught about 20 of them there. I've only caught them in 2 locations, there has to be other places in the connecting canals.
