BassObsessed Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I wasn't going to head out to fish this afternoon with the temps in the low 30's and 20mph winds but with the water temp more than likely still staying consistant I ventured out with many layers on ( except forgot gloves). Water temp was 50. I threw 3 or 4 different swimbaits including the Hudd 68, and a Dirty Jig with a 5'' Kalins grub trailer. The Hudd 68 would eventually get eaten there but I didn't put much time into it today. The rig walker and another pre- rigged swimbait a little bigger were slaying them again along with the swimjig. One of the first bass caught looked like Dottie's long lost grand daughter with the dot in a different area. A few casts later a bass nailed the swimbait real hard and was fighting like a much larger fish. At first I thought it was a giant but after getting her in she was in the 4lb range with some type of fish jammed down her throat like a crappie or something. I threw the swimjig for a little bit and caught 3 or 4 and missed about the same. After catching all the crappie yesterday I made sure to throw the bigger of the two swimbaits to hopefully eliminate catching them. On one cast something crushed the bait and felt strong. It was the same 4lbish pickerel that bit off my Rage Blade a few days ago and it was still in it's mouth. It was nice to get that back. There are numerous huge laydowns in the water with many branches and one of these times I need to put some time in with whatever lure wont get me hung up because many a lure Iv'e lost there already. I lost count but was around a 20 fish day. Dotties relative It was nice to get the Rage Blade back from the fish. It needs a break but the action is too good to stop. 4 Quote
Weld's Largemouth Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Man! You've been killing them; the water by you must be the perfect prespawn temp right now. I gotta try out those rig walkers sometime! Quote
Turtle135 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 well done! that is some serious bass-thumb Quote
BassObsessed Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Thanks. Yeah those rig walkers have been working great since I started using them this year. The water temp today was 50 and they were very aggressive on the strikes. 1 Quote
WolfyBrandon Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I wasn't going to head out to fish this afternoon... Funny how those days can turn out to be better than planned days. Almost like the fish can read your mind and bite better on days you don't plan on fishing. WolfyBrandon 1 Quote
