I ordered a couple bags of KVD's coffee finesse worms and they arrived banged up. As per this forum's advice, I boiled them to straighten them up. The issue now is they've lost the oil sheen and are very sticky (attracting dust and whatnot).

I'd like to place a few drops of smelly jelly (craw & anise) to them but they still have a bit of coffee scent.

Does anyone have experience when it comes to mixing scents? Would too many scents be off-putting?

How can I restore the oily coating of the worms?

Thanks a ton.

Interesting question. I haven't had a problem with boiling baits. I really love the coffee smell and would probably just leave it on myself. I don't think the fish will mind too much either way.

If sticky grind some salt really fine ( you can use a blender for this) put a little in the bag and shake. It will keep the coffee scent and won't be sticky.

Do it all the time it will not hurt a thing!

I order a lot of plastics in bulk, they will come 100-200 in a big zip-lok bag. I divide them into 25 pks in snack size zip-lok bags, 3-4 drops of Bassmate with 1/2 oz pure anise oil added. I then take the bag and make sure all plastics are coated and straight before closing.

I've got bags of plastics 15-20 yrs old ;)

Oh yea I don't have KVD but I do have Rage Tail

Never had an issue. I generally add a bit of craw scent to my baits when fishing them, and have never worried about the base scent and have caught a lot of fish. I will say I wish they had the coffee scent in a gel, I have had fish hit the bait a couple of times more than once, maybe bass are caffeine addicts too lol

cgolf - thanks for sharing your experience. I wish the same too (coffee gel) just for my coffee scented baits so i don't have to mix things up. I guess lucky bass near me will get a whiff of anise craw coffee cocktail. Hopefully it's like a espresso sambuca to us LOL.

Kcdinkerz - never thought of that but i'll try that out. Even if I don't care scents the annoying thing is that without the oil it feels like that back of a sticky-note. Thanks.

May I add -  Popcorn Salt could be used if you don't have a grinder.

Hope this helps.
