Came across this on fb for custom knife scales so I looked the company up and they have blanks for turning just about anything. Thought it would make a sweet custom rod handles some stuff is very pricy($125) but for the most part it's not bad ($15) for the smaller blanks that I think would work for a rod handle. I'm gonna order some to have some coyote calls made and while I'm at it see if my buddy can do a reel handle.

Little sample of what they look like.

Those are really pretty!  I'm curious to see what you come up with.  It says on the site that they don't sell to the public so you might have to find someone to buy for you.

It would be pretty cool to use a sawed off baseball bat for a big swimbait rod.  If you did that you could call your shot like Babe Ruth.

Alternative grip materials is one of the most custom parts of rod building. I'd check the weight before going all in. Also be sure the bore is big enough for what ever rod you'll put it on. I'd have it bored to accept hard foam arbors and them ream to fit. That will get good adhesion and trim some weight as well.

According to their Facebook page they have different size blanks for turning cups or bowls so I'm sure they have something that will work for rods. I was thinking split grips wouldn't be to heavy
