What a great addiction Quote
wickyman Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Ok, looking at all of these nice rooms/garage sections of your houses, make me want to show what I use... Maybe later this afternoon I will have space on the camera disk... lol The only thing I have that is absolutely full! Quote
Red Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 wow some of you guys sure do have ALOT of stuff!!...here is mine... the second one is a small worm binder witch has my soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and terminal tackle in it....enjoy! Cliff Quote
The_Natural Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I'll give a little insight into how I organize. I have two bags I utilize, which you will see at the left of the pic below. The top one is cranks, and the bottom one is plastics. To the right of my bags are my crankbait backstock, with my plastic backstock residing in my closet. My bags contain 7 or so boxes each, categorized by type. My crankbait bag has a trap box, jerkbait box, chartreuse shallow, shad shallow, medium diver, deep diver, and large diver boxes. It would be a bit ridiculous to take a pic of the contents of every single box, so I'll just show some examples. Each box, i.e. shallow chartreuse, shallow shad, etc., are a mixture of my top producing baits. Some examples are below... my shallow chartreuse... shallow shad... traps... You get the idea. I generally carry two of each color of a bait in my carry bags, sometimes 3 or 4 if it is an extremely hot bait for me. When a bait is lost, I go to my backstock. My backstock crankbaits are divided by brand, and each brand gets its own box. BDS and RC backstock... Bagleys backstock... Bandit backstock... Bill Norman, Rapala, Bill Lewis, etc....you get the idea. My closet holds my plastic backstock. I use the 3.5" deep 3700's, and I can squeeze 40 or so bags in each box, and well over a hundred bags in the rubbermaid tubs. Here is my miscellaneous shelfs... Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 27, 2007 Super User Posted April 27, 2007 that is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Quote
Super User cart7t Posted April 27, 2007 Super User Posted April 27, 2007 The whole box. Nice old possum belly George and in great condition! One in that condition can fetch quite a price with collectors or on Ebay. I remember when you were really stylin if you had one but you had to have a pretty wide boat in order to fully deploy both "wings"! ;D Quote
wickyman Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 d**n natural, you make my "box" look like a child's toy chest! *tears* It's absolutely the largest collection of lures, that I myself, have ever seen! You really love the sport huh? Keep on fishing bro! Very nice! Quote
Stringjam Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Hey Natural - - how do you like the WEC Z-Flats? I picked up a few this year - and is that a Bee-Zee Flat up there in the first pick in the middle-far left container? Quote
Live.2.Fish Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Natural, that is just plain SICK!!! (in a good way ) I'm speechless Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted April 28, 2007 Super User Posted April 28, 2007 I really thought in my heart of hearts that I had a really bad tackle addiction problem, I stand corrected. Natural, I am not worthy........Dude you have issues, they are good issues but issues none the less. Quote
The_Natural Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 how do you like the WEC Z-Flats? I picked up a few this year - and is that a Bee-Zee Flat up there in the first pick in the middle-far left container? The Z-flats are the newest WEC's I have, and have had limited use. I played around with them over the winter, but that is it. They had a tight wiggle that you want in a flat sided bait; similar to the Sweet Pea's that share the same compartment. I had in mind that they would do well in later prespawn, when the water is in the 50's. I've probably caught my biggest fish on the WEC wobblers, which they don't make anymore. Thanks for the compliments guys...you will never hear me say I need all that tackle; I just enjoy buying it, owning it, and fishing with it. BTW...I've never heard of the Bee-Zee, but I do want more of the WEC baits. They represent everything I desire in a hardbait. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 28, 2007 Super User Posted April 28, 2007 I've been fishing for less than a year but this is the majority of what I've accumulated so far... bag cranks jigs favorite plastics spinners and terminal tackle topwaters and jerkbaits Quote
Bassboy15 Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 HAHA...When I made this thread I expected like 4 posts.....now I have 50...brings a tear to my eye :'( Quote
SuthernProg Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 I can't wait to show my wife the pics of "The Natural's" tackle and clue her in on just how easy she really does have it around here. Prog Quote
George Hartzell Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 The whole box. Nice old possum belly George and in great condition! One in that condition can fetch quite a price with collectors or on Ebay. I remember when you were really stylin if you had one but you had to have a pretty wide boat in order to fully deploy both "wings"! ;D My Grandfather had one of those old giant Kennedy metal hip roof tackle boxes full of old Heddon and Arbogast Lures. When I saw this Umco Possum belly with its ten trays I figuered it was the only tacklebox I would ever need. Times change, improvements come along, and the plano type boxes seem to be the way to go. You plan ahead and take what you think you will need in a soft bag full of small organized boxes. More of a challenge, and easier on the back! Quote
SPAZ Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Natural what kind of boxes and bags do you use? Quote
The_Natural Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Natural what kind of boxes and bags do you use? I got the red bags at Cabelas; they were on sale for 29.99 with boxes. They claim to only hold 5 3700's, but I can squeeze in 7. I also use Tackle Logic worm binders. I will say the whole two bag system is dumb though...it is just waaay to much crap. I have been just carrying the crankbait bag, and put the plastics I have narrowed down in the Tackle Logic worm binders. A binder fits perfectly in each side pocket, and my terminal tackle goes up front. This is just when I am fishing a tournament, or going to the lake. When I pond fish, I take a small little box, or just throw a couple of baits in my pocket. Quote

Hmmmm......I wish I woulda picked up a few more Wobblers when I had the chance. I got some Sweet Peas, Ugly Ducks, Tapps, Z-Flatts and Wobblers for a good deal so I guess I'll find out how well I like them.....the Flats do have a pretty cool action though - - almost like a lipless bait. wickyman Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Don't laugh, this is what I have right now, and I do fine with it! Okeechobee bag Just a top view, 4 boxes, 2 spools of the line I use. The worms I use. Anything from zoom, up to senkos in there, also a lot of finesse! The spools of line, that I ALWAYS carry. Trout/Bass lures, I have yet to catch a fish on any of them, just bought them for a trout derby this last weekend! Hard lures, top, diving, prop bait, spinner, and buzz baits. I always keep a bobber for when I want to float a worm! My jig box. I keep all sorts of jigs, anything from 1/32 oz, up to 1/4oz. Smaller bobbers for crappie, warranties, pens for marking scores... This is what I have for tools, leatherman style pliers, nail clippers, and a knife. I keep my crawfish in here, and some little thumping tails. I need to restock as you can see... I ran out of lime green/metallic flake 2" thumpers... These are my poles that I have put together in the last few months, or years... My ultra light was bought for my birthday, and the orange ambassadeur was bought just last week. Shakespeare poles on the abu garcias, and a berkeley cherrywood on the shakespeare reel. I am slowly building up what I need to fish, just on a really low budget, and time constraints also effect my purchasing time... Quote
SuthernProg Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Wickyman, I have the Okeechobee Fats bag too and love it. Right now I operate out of a big duffel bag, and load the pre-labled boxes in the Fats bag with what I need on a case by case basis along with spinnerbait and buzzbait wallets by Falcon. Working well so far, but it does mean a lot of transfering stuff around. Prog Quote
wickyman Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Yeah. I personally like the bag because it's relatively smaller than most bags, making it a pleasure to store anywhere on a boat. And, at the price I paid for it, I could always get another, later on! Wal-Mart has some of the most awesome prices on things like this, it makes it hard not to buy one, or two of anything! I just need to spend another 50 bucks, and get myself a little more tackle to go with it! Maybe then I will be fully ready to hit the lake, full throttle! I need to re-stock my worms, and jig sleeves, and get a few more hard baits in more colors... But otherwise, I am d**n near ready to land me a hog! 4.6lbs is my personal best, my goal is at least an 8lb by the end of the summer. Anything D.D. in my lifetime! Quote
