TopDog Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 All hail alpha!! cool garage man! is there anyroom for the car? That not the garage! ;D Â That is my room in the basement for me and me only. Â Got my workbench in there, Gunsafe, Computer and my hobby stuff. I made sure I had a room for me to escape from the wife and kids. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 13, 2007 Super User Posted April 13, 2007 I would need a wide angle lens to get it all. Â :-/ Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 13, 2007 Super User Posted April 13, 2007 Over the years I've used a few different Tackle Systems, but during the last couple of years I've been leaning heavily on small "Plano Magnums" that I preload from bigger stashes (labeled to suit). Below is my "soft-plastics" table, a dumping ground for soft-plastics that have already been retired for one reason or another. Roger Quote
wickyman Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I only use what has worked for me in the past.  My box looks shameful!  I don't have a lot of money, like most people.  So I buy basically what I can afford at the time.  I do have essentials though...  I have my top water baby torpedo, snag proof frog, several worms, zoom black chartreuse lizards, some bobbers, and pretty much ever size jig, from a 1/32-1/4 oz. I also have a small spinner beetle, and one rapala shad. Anything with gamakatsu hooks is fantastic!  And I try to purchase those as I find the money!  I also have a couple rattle baits made by renegade, firetiger, and golden shad.  I also like to rig up my own bait styles on occasion from lures that I retired, or were so worn out from old age, and not being taken care of.  Like if I feel like it would be a good day to run a spinner, I run the spinner off an old rooster tail, on a worm, or something similar.   Ingenuity is my persuit!  I also carry with me spider wire line in 8lb test, brass eagle 17lb test, and berkley vanish transition gold in 4lb.  Basically, I don't need much more, as I am not going for fish over 10lbs...  lol  I don't even know why I bought the 17lb...  I don't have a reel to suit that heavy of line!  lol  I just have everything I need packaged up in an older plano magnum double sided box, and a smaller box for crappie jigs/bass items...  Oh, and you can't forget a couple tiny bobbers for those days that you want to dangle a crawler!   Pictures soon.  Quote

TopDog Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks for the kind words guys, but to be honest...75 percent of the stuff I buy on clearance or with coupons or closeouts. I take advantage of those $10 off $25 at dicks all the time I get a coupon. You can buy $25 worth of stuff for $15. If the stuff is on sale too even better. For example this week Dicks sporting goods had 20% off all Yamomoto baits. So a bag of regular senkos is 4.78 with the 20 percent off. You buy 6 bags for 28.68....use the coupon it comes out to 18.68 plus tax for 6 bags of senkos. thats 3.11 a bag. This is a no brainer guys. Just patience and smart shopping. Zoom products are off the hook. they start at 2.99 -20% thats 2.40 a bag times 11 bags equals 26.40 - $10 bucks with coupon= $16.40 for 11 bags of zoom Thats $1.49 a bag. HOW QUICKLY A WALL FILLS UP WITH SAVINGS LIKE THAT. With 2 quick trips, I put 17 bags of platics on my wall. Â I give half the stuff away to little kids and nephews and stuff...all the time. Â Its all about the fishing Quote

kicknbass Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Mine isn't as elaborate, just some stuff I have collected over the course of a couple of years. I don't own a boat so I tend to travel light. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 14, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 14, 2007 Mine - boat is filled with 50+ pounds of tackle, including 25 rods between the wife and I. Those shelves in the back are full of "extras" (there's shelves directly on the opposite wall too) - enough lures to last a very long time! OY! Quote

I am lucky to have the wonderful companion, as she spends so much time with me, in the store, and buys whatever I want...  She doesn't care, as long as I am happy, doing something that I have a new found love for!  As I get older, I find myself out in nature more and more...  And along side me, is Jordan, my 11 year old brother in law...  I always let him use my tackle!   Maybe one day, he will credit me for him catching that world record bass, of his!  Quote
