Black, brown and green pumkin are about all I need.

I recommend just going to fishingskirts.com and browsing.  I just ordered a bunch of different colors and created different skirts by combining colors when they arrived.  You can make some very basic skirts utilizing one color, or use one color as a 'main' color and then add a few strands of a highlight color.  It is a blast to make your own jigs, and my skirts have been better than any factor skirts I have seen.

I like their "Choose Your Language" as it says US Dollar.  ;D

Skirts can drive you nuts so go and get some good ones.

I have one that actually changes color to a blue tint to imitate a bluegill.

Never have used it as I am waiting for "just the right moment."  ;)

I usually use only one of two colors of jigs when I can make my own.  So far, I haven't ran into very many situations where one or the other wouldn't work.

My favorite is watermelonseed with watermelon/chartruse accents and a matching trailer (rage tail craw in summer craw fits the bill for me, but I'm colorblind lol).

My other favorite is a solid black, 30 stand skirt with a rage craw/chunk that DOES NOT match the skirt.  A little unusual, but it works very, very well.

The most popular jig color is probably either brown/red or blue/black.  Those would be a good starting point, but I rarely use either one.  ONly when I have to buy jigs.

You'll be able to make more than you can reasonably lose very soon.
