aluislugo Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Looking for something whippy and short (preferably under 7ft) so I can accurately cast light lures on a baitcaster in shallow water. Any suggestions? Thanks Quote
CRANKENSTIEN Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Duckett 7 ft medium action micro magic pro. Great for light cranks, or light hooks. It is like the fish are fighting a spring when you are bringing them in. Something about this rod, If you catch them at a distance they are wore out when they get in. Quote
Topwaterspook Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 BPS sells their Bionic Blade BBM66MT for $80. It's a micro guide model. I have an old standard model that's 30 plus years old. I've replaced some guides and tip tops and it's still going strong. I'll break down and cry if it ever gets broken. Quote

ClackerBuzz Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 TW has a Shimano Clarus 6'8" 1/4-3/8 oz on sale for $50. And they have Diawa's for $47. Quote
CRANKENSTIEN Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I forgot to mention that rod is $150. there is a similar Duckett ghost rod spec wise for $100, which I haven't felt, but is probably similiar. I do have a MH Ghost which is a great rod as well. Quote

aluislugo Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 How about a Veritas2 I think it's a 6'6" model. Quote
jonnyblazex Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 If short and whippy is all you need, how about an Ugly Stick? I could get you a new one for $5. Heck for that price you could buy 10, and be set for life after spending $50! Quote

Super User BrianinMD Posted March 25, 2015 Super User Posted March 25, 2015 One question, what are you considering "light" lures? Quote
Alpha Male Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I was at gander mountain and randomly found a gander mountain guide series 4' ML casting rod. It was 50$ that fits your criteria. Quote
