I'm thinking the new Luck E Strike flatsided squarebill (KJ look alike), is going to be a winner early in the year. The Little John is another really good one. The Bandit Flat Maxx used to be a good one but not sure they still make them.

It's not a traditional SB but I like throwing the Supernatos now that I put cable trailer trebles on them. They're slower but they're just more fun for me. You can do a lot of different things with them that you can't do w a hard floating SB.

If I like the new S Crank half as much as I think I will though, it'll probably take the "fav" crown once the ice clears.

KVD 1.0 Tennessee Shad.  Quick jerk once it hits the water to get it going and then a slow crank just to get it to wobble through the water column.  On a glass rod you can feel a fish suck it in, its awesome!

Rapala DT Flat 3 and 7 have been great and this season I'm going to give the Bagley Rattlin' Kill'r B2 a shot as they look like they are going to be pretty awesome.

I have said it many times. Baker Lure squarebills suspend and work really well in the spring.

Dont read the reviews as they had a bad batch that the manufacturer forgot to put the bb's in LOL.

Norman Fat Boy (redear pattern)

I think you and I are the only ones who talk about this lure here. Imo best squarebill on the market.

Chalk me up to that too, I love the little Johns, they cast well, retrieve well, and have good components, you really can't ask for more than that except a fish on the end of your line :)

I like the Storm Arashi SB as well as the SK KVD line of SB's.

^^^+1 on that! I love those lil dudes. I fish mine on an ultralight with 6lb mono and a split shot 12 inches in front of it. Cant cast it otherwise haha I've had days on the Appomattox where Ive done a "slam" and never untied my bitsy minnow. Chain pickerel, bluegill, bass, knothead, crappie, and red ear.

Now for actual lake fishing, I like my KVD 2.5 in just regular shad color. Great bait to have confidence in.

The Fat Boy doesn't seem to get a lot of live here, does it?

The Fat Boy has been my favorite squarebill since its introduction. I use it along with Bandit SBs, Strike King 1.5s and H2O Express SBs.

They all work well at certain times.

I never seen no one else mention it beside RW. It abd the 1.5s are all I use.
