Bigchunk Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I find i dont use anything but aruku shads, wild shiner, perch and majic shad. The LCs are tempting but idk if its worth the extra bucks. Maybe a few of those LV 500S for the cold water.... If the ice ever melts LMK Quote
HookdUP Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I use xr50/70s and rat-l-traps and red eye shads Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 24, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 24, 2015 The Xcaliber XR50 and XR50 are where it's at! 1 Quote
Bigchunk Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 I do habe a few red eye shads. But they havnt seen the water in a few seasons. Should switch it up i guess Quote
Hogsticker Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Check out the new Yo Zuri 3DB vibes. About the same price as Spro and equally effective. 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 24, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 24, 2015 Try a Duo lipless. They are excellent. Agreed, another excellent bait. The entire lineup from Duo Realis is top notch if you haven't checked them out. Quote
tennsopher Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I have caught numbers of bass between 7to10lbs on the lucky craft lvrd10 in American shad. For numbers though, the blue&silver rattle trap is hard to beat.I have aruku shads, cordell spots ,red eyes, etc.Just my 2 cents. 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted March 24, 2015 Super User Posted March 24, 2015 I have a Rapala Clackin' Rap, which I like, but once I started trying Cordell Super Spots, I have stuck with them. To be fair, I have not tried every lipless on the market. But when a $3 bait catches fish for me (just caught my PB on one), why would I start buying a $12 one? 2 Quote

I like to work a lipless crank like a plastic worm. Rattle traps lay over when dropped. Red Eyes actually have action when dropped. Surprisingly , I catch more fish on the traps. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 24, 2015 Super User Posted March 24, 2015 I use a variety of them, and the reason is due to the differences, most are unique in some way that makes them good at certain times but not all the time. I love the Xcalibur one knockers, they seem to draw big fish and the Cotton Cordell Super Spots work well and rattle at slower speeds than others which makes them great for cold water. I really like the Rapala Rippin Rap too but I don't have much time with it, but so fat so good. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 24, 2015 Super User Posted March 24, 2015 My favorites are the Xcalibur XR series and the old tried and true Cordell Super Spots. No need to spend crazy money on a lipless crankbait. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted March 24, 2015 Super User Posted March 24, 2015 when a $3 bait catches fish for me (just caught my PB on one), why would I start buying a $12 one? Because we all know fishing is a lot like women, the more you spend on them, the greater your return.... 1 Quote
Super User CWB Posted March 24, 2015 Super User Posted March 24, 2015 XR50 OneKnockers have been killer for me. A little different sound. Not overpriced either. Quote
Bruce424 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Guess I'm the only one to still fish Cordell. Haha 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted March 24, 2015 Super User Posted March 24, 2015 Guess I'm the only one to still fish Cordell. Haha Nope, my son swears by that rattlebait! I use Xcalibur & Yozuri, along with plain Jane rattletrap brand.. I catch them on all of those brands.. Quote
Mothercanucker Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Nothing but the exact same as OP. Smallie killers Quote
ColdSVT Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Lv 500, jackall tn70 and the red eye shad are my favs Quote
Slefler Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Caught some dinks on Monday using a Yo Zuri 3DB series Vibe in Prism Crawfish. They are actually quite a bit darker than the image of it on TW. Quote
Ginosocalbass Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 cordell spots, and mans pogo shad. i do own a bunch of aruku shads, but they havent done anything for me since november... same with the red eye shad. id like to fish a few of a XR25s and a one-knocker and see how they do Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 26, 2015 Super User Posted March 26, 2015 The Red Eye Shad is a Must Have! Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 26, 2015 Super User Posted March 26, 2015 I have caught more on a Cordell than on a Rat-L-Trap. The trap is easier to throw, but the Super Spot gets hit better. Quote
