Where i'm at the fish are already commited on beds. I've thrown everything and caught fish. Carolina/texas rigged lizards being my favorite. Topwater bite has been decent. Of course my hands down favorite is a 1/2 oz jig with a trailer of some sort.

Look in shallow flats for spawning bass or in staging type areas just outside of the spawning grounds.  Lipless cranks, jigs, flipping creature baits, and jerkbaits would be my choice.

It all depends on water clarity and weather conditions but here is a list of baits I'd have with me.

1. Jerkbait.

2. finesse jig or hair jig.

3. Spinnerbait.

4. Shad Rap or other small flat sided crankbait.

5. chatterbait.

6. shaky head with 4.5" to 6" finesse worm.

id go with some lipless cranks, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, suspending jerkbaits, and my favorite a  jig, for colors i like to go with a bluegill or crappie color when the waters clear and black/blue if its stained

goodluck!

My assumption would be that the bass are still in early to mid prespawn. They may move all the way up on a spawning flat if the sun has been beating down all morning. Chances are that even if they do, the majority of their time will be spent feeding and roaming just outside one of the spawning areas and they'd go deeper if the weather turned

The shallower you fid them, or start your search, the faster the presentation. Spinnerbaits and lipless cranks shallow, blade baits and swim baits out to the first drop and jerkbaits, suspending cranks and hair jigs if you think their activity level has slowed. Jigs, of course will produce no matter where you locate fish, bot keep the speed/depth formula in mind.

You'll be dealing with pre-spawn for sure. Think about tossing some hard jerkbaits (longer pauses between jerks), or slow rolling a 5" hollow bellied swimbait on a weighted off-set hook. One of these will get bit.

If there is deep water ajacent to a north/northwest flat and if it's not too snaggly, you might want to try blade baits jigged on/off the bottom as well.
