I was wanting to get a few new set ups to start off the year but have a few questions. I'm wanting to get a spinning set up, ~6'6" medium, for wacky rigs and shakey heads ect.. Also was looking at getting another casting set up, ~7' medium heavy, for spinner baits and crank baits. Lastly I was wanting to get a setup for fishing brush, docks and other heavy cover, ~7'6" heavy. Im just kind of stuck between what does to get. I've been looking at denail koverts or j2 or Abu Garcia verocity or loomis e6x. Any help or advice or any other suggestions is greatly appreciated!

I would say go with abu or loomis. All rods at that price range will be nice. Just that I'm sure there customer service is a lot better.

I would look into quite a few others as well, Phenix makes a great 7' glass rod that would work great for cranks and spinnerbaits, then you also have *** and the Black Omens as well as the Black *** cranking rods, and can't forget Falcon Rods.  Just thought I should throw those brands into the mix as well.

I'm really leaning more towards the Abu or loomis just because i have a bass pro 15 minutes away and can hold one and can get a feel for them before I buy. I may look into a veritas also. The loomis is a little more than I'm wanting spend but if I really like it after seeing one and holding one I certainly won't count it out. I have a gl2 spinning rod and it's certanly an awesome rod!

Also have heard good things about falcon, I have a neighbor that uses them and has nothing but good stuff to say about them.

In the same price range as the Loomis E6x I'd suggest you check out the St Croix Avid line, well built, great service, very nice blanks, and great warranty and service program. Love the 6'8" M/XF for any Shakeyheads, wacky rigs, weightless senkos, tubes, etc. There was a Legend Elite in the flea market that was a steal but I think it sold.

Those E6x rods look nice and have a good warranty and service so worth checking out. I'd also say check out the Shimano Zodias, they look great and all reviews sound good so far, but only 1 yr warranty. Also the Shimano Crucial but again 1 yr warranty.

Personally the experience I've had with Denali rods was underwhelming, I think there are much better options. Never used an Abu.

I've also heard good things about the Lamiglas Pro X rods and other Lamiglas rods. In this price range I'd definitely be checking them out.

Lots of good options. Good luck and let us know what you get!

Edited to add: look at the Daiwa Tatulas as well. Lots of good reviews and feedback here and elsewhere on them.

The Daiwa Tatula line of rod's is what I would recommend because they are going for around $100 on the interweb and the rods are very much worth that price. Good stuff.

If not those I would say go with the Duckett line of rods, The Ghost is $100 and they are very nice rods also, for a little more you can go up to the micro magic pro line and they are fantastic.

good luck and let us know what you decide to buy and how you like it.

St Croix Avid....St Croix has best customer service and the avid is 15 year warranty i think so you know you get your moneys worth out of the rod no matter what happens...I would personally swing the money to get the Legend Tournament and get the lifetume warranty

I'd try a e6x, lot of hype. I would check out the Powell Max 3D's. Finally got mine out to fish and wow. Super sensitive.

Original Avid series are still a Lifetime warranty. Only the Avid X series is the 15 yr warranty.
