I don't think the web has failed me this bad before. I usually find everything I want and more, but this time I'm stumped. I have a lowrance HDS 7 and the transducer is mounted to the metal bracket and the boat with this small slide off plastic wedge. That thing has broken on me three times and I have managed to fix it in the past (love the epoxy and tape). This time I think it is done, so I wanted to just order a new one. That doesn't seem to be possible without buying the whole bracket or a new transducer. Anyone got an idea. Thanks for the help in advance.

Did you try contacting lowrance? they might be able to help you out if is one of their mounts.

Yeah, I talked with them and they have a mount but they want to sell the whole thing. I don't need the mounting hardware or the the metal bracket, but it looks like that's what I'm going to do just to get the plastic wedge.

I've been running Lowrance for quite a few years now, and I'm not quite sure what wedge you're talking about. All my transducers have only come with a metal bracket for installation. Pictures could be beneficial in this situation.

The Down Scan transducers have a part that the transducer slides into which has the mount stem that goes in the metal bracket.

I installed an Elite 7 HDI for a friend, so I have seen how it mounts.

Yeah, Wayne has it right. There is a plastic piece that connects onto the metal bracket and the transducer slides and connects on to that plastic part.
