which sun protection gloves do you use? How do they hold up? do they allow you to maintain a good grip on your rod/reel? do they allow you to grip rod/reel when wet?

Which buff do you use ? do any allow you to breathe without fogging up your sunglasses?

I use Sun Gloves from Simms & Buff - they're both decent.

I also have a rather embarrassingly large assortment of Buffs - for both warm & cold weather.

Unfortunately they ALL fog my glasses - at least a little.

Thanks A-Jay.

Do you use the Simms gloves that have the open palm?

Yes -   I like that style the best.

I thought it was going to feel strange but my wife & I both prefer that one.

I wear Mangrove sun gloves, an Outdoor Research Helios hat and a Buff.   The gloves have a leathery material on the palms, they are comfortable, inexpensive and have lasted over a full season.

I  use the Mangroves as well. And I can't get more than a season out of them either, or others I've tried.  If you do, you aren't fishing enough. Still a good investment for your skin.

I have a large variety of buffs, a tilley hat and simms gloves. Columbia long sleeves and pants.

The sun isn't playing around ANYWHERE. ... but its downright angry in Florida.

do you use the simms gloves with no palms?

which buffs do you prefer and why?

No, my simms have the "leather" palms. I don't feel they interfere with casting in anyway, and I kayak fish mostly so I like the paddle protection.

I like the original buff, but I balk at the price. I have recently started wearing buffs by Salt Armor, after seeing 75% off coupons on Facebook. I got two very nice quality gaiters for $12. They are soft, loose fitting and breathe well. I'm very happy with them so far. Even though their business is fishing centered, their neck gaiters appear to be mostly motorcycle focused- with many "face" designs and outrageous graphics. I got their more subtle pattern and I love it.

Last year I bought the Glacier glove from Bass Pro and I love them! Very light, you don't even know you have them on! I am going to buy the hood this year! No sun burn anymore!

I wear a wide brim straw hat and a lot of sunscreen. The buff goes under the straw hat. I tried the buff on my face, but it caused my glasses to fog up so bad that I couldn't see.

Oh and by the way I think everyone should ware some kind of glove or sun screen. Last year I found out that I had a small touch of skin cancer on my hands and it was from fishing and not using anything on my hands.. Good news is that they caught it early and froze my hands kind of spray,I can't think of the name of it-man I am getting old! :Idontknow:  :cry3:  :Idea3:

They use liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin. If your lucky they can use the fudex cream. Don't know that is the correct name of the cream but how it sounds. My entire family deals with skin cancer.

I use Columbia gloves and sun hat. The gloves fingers are cut to the middle knuckle and grip pads all along the palm side. Wet or not the gloves never slip and i have my hands  fully protected from the sun. My hat has a big brim and a light flap that covers the back of my head, ears and neck. That with a pair of Costa's, a long sleeve sun shirt, and pants and you are talking about really good sun protection and insulation. South FL sun is never forgiving.

I appreciate everyone commenting on their experience with different brands. I have never tried either the gloves or the buffs, but I am going to use both this season.

I'm waiting for the Cabela's Guide Wear Extreme gloves to get stocked back up again.  They are just a matter of convenience to me as I drive right by Cabela's every day.

I use the Columbia gloves and buff paired with the columbia omni freeze sleeves and short sleeve columbia pfg shirts.

The little rubber dots on the gloves provide excellent grip.

Also I like using the sleeves with the short sleeve shirt instead of a long sleeve shirt for better ventilation. The combo keeps me nice and cool. I've been amazed at how cool you stay just by covering up.

Never thought about the sleeves. Thanks for sharing your system

Shootermcbob, what did you wind up with? Just got some of the SA buffs. Fogging up is an issue. Fishin in the wind helps. Wonder if putting rainx on glasses would help?

What kind of gloves did you get?

You can't beat the price for the SA's. I am very happy with them and $15 bucks for 5 of them.
