DV1 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Hi, I'm new here but not new to fishing in South Jersey. I see some familiar names here. Been doing lots of bank hopping the last few weeks, hitting some different lakes, ponds and spillways. Last boat trip was a few weeks ago to Alloway, and I had a pretty good day. I'm retired so I fish mostly weekdays to avoid the crowds but my brother wants to put his boat in this weekend, so we are hoping for the best. Any of you club guys have tournaments going this weekend? Would like to avoid them if we can. Quote

You're best bet is going to http://www.sjbca.org/ and checking out the clubs and their schedules to see which bodies you want to hit. Quote

Any other public waterway is pretty much taken over by clubs, mostly on Saturdays. Quote

fish devil Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Its been a struggle for the club during the past month. The hot weather has really killed the action. Same thing last week at Rainbow. Bites were tough to come by. We had some good fish caught but not many numbers. The top team caught them on buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and plastics. I had the two for my team using a SK Redeye lipless crank. Lunker went 4.56lbs Top 3 1. S.Summers/Satanoff Team (Sean Summers & Adam Satanoff) Total Bass/Weight = 4 / 10.94 lbs Points = 22 2. fish devil Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Nailed 4 largies this morning on Rainbow Lake. Best went just over 4lbs. A few others right at 3lbs. Chrome sexy shad lipless crank did the damage..... 3 Quote
fish devil Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Hit Rainbow Lake for about three hours this afternoon. Water temps 49-50. The lipless crank bite was still on. Caught six, mostly 1 1/2-2lbs. One around 3lbs. 1 Quote
fish devil Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Got on the water around 7:30. Water temps started around 48. Nailed my first 3lber on a chrome sexy shad Redeye. Continued to move around the main lake at a fast pace. Caught a few more chunky bass around the 1 1/2- 2 lb range. Pickerel started biting too. I fouled hooked a hefty bullhead. Finally got my best of the day at around 10:30. Weighed in at 4.12lbs. Pulled out at 11:00. 3 Quote

Where are you in SNJ, I'm down in LBI every weekend either on a boat for bass or out at sea for fluke and sea bass. Quote

fish devil Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Rainbow Lake (SJ Hawg Hunters) 3/18 10 teams competed on a chilly, rainy morning. Water temps ranged from 37-39. Super User RoLo Posted March 27, 2017 Super User Posted March 27, 2017 I lived in Jersey for 50 years, now retired in Florida. Most of my bass fishing was in central Jersey (Farrington, Spruce Run, Round Valley ~ ~), but I fished a great deal in south Jersey for chain pickerel. Some of my favorite pickerel waters were Wading River, Chatsworth Lake, Bamber Lake & Double Trouble. I'm sure the scenario is different today. Roger Quote
