Has anyone been out to Rainbow or Assunpink recently?  I'm going to get out on Monday with my Kilroy and deciding which one to fish. I've fished Assunpink a fair bit, but never been to Rainbow.

I'm ten minutes from Rainbow. Good fish coming out of there. Last weeks open on Sunday had 3 13lb+bags.

Hey guys,

New to the forums. I'm from Atlantic County and have been doing some pond hopping in the area the last couple weeks. Here's my personal best in my young freshwater career lol. Caught on a bitsy bug jig w/ a havoc pit boss jr. I've been throwing the jig exclusively, trying to concentrate on learning one lure at a time. Hopefully, I can fish with some of you guys sometime.

Hit Parvin again today. Caught five after getting six yesterday.Nothing big. Best went just over 16". Water temps dropped about 5 degress from yesterday. These fish hit really hard. Wacky rig Senkos. Nailed a chunk pickerel too.

Took the day off and decided to fish Rainbow this morning around 6:30AM. It was tough finding fish at first. Nothing on beds. Finally locked in on an area full of lilly pads. A wacky rigged 5" senko was all I needed. Pulled out 8 largies and probably had another half dozen strikes without a hookup. Best at 3lbs. Most in the 2-2 1/2lb range.

Hit Cedarville this morning. Caught some pickerel, yellow perch and 14 largies. Many of the bass went in the 1 1/2 -2lb range. They all fought hard and most jumped out of the water. Lost a solid fish on a jump. A 5" wacky rigged Senko was the producer. I worked the jig hard around pads and wood but could not get a bite. No action on topwater either.

Hit Rainbow yesterday. Had poor results, mostly small non-keeper bass on a wacky rig. Today I hit Cedarville. Bite was slow but I had four small keeper bass on the wacky rig. Lost a 3lber on a jump. No biggie, it happens. About an hour later I hooked into a slob, about ten feet from shore. This thing took a wild jump about 6 feet from me and of course shot the hook out. Would have been my best at this lake. An easy 6-7lb largie. I battled on. Got another big strike on the wacky rig, This time it was a solid channel cat 5-6lbs. I also caught a handful of yellow perch and pickerel.

Anyone been out on Manasquan Res, Lake Mercer, Assunpink, or Union lately?  Heading out both Thursday and Friday. I expect a tough bite but if one these has been any good recently it would help me make my decision.

Anybody have any suggestions on where I can take my son in/around the Pine Barrens region for some bass?  Getting tired of catfish, the occasional pickerel, and the (all too common and also disgusting) eels.  We'd be shore fishing...

We have a lake front campsite at our place but the lake is only a lake from April - November, then they drain it and it turns into a large stream....so the native fish population isn't what it could be.

Hit the Pink this morning. Very tough bite. Caught one keeper on a wacky rig Senko. Had a handful of shorts and one pickerel. Hopefully tomorrow's SJ Hawg Hunters club tourney goes a little better.

You guys should be catching in Jersey If I am catching up here in NY

If I'm not mistaken Weld, you shuttle between New York & Florida.

I lived 50 years in New Jersey and close to 20 years in Florida.

Though Florida-strain bass are MUCH bigger, northern-strain bass are MUCH easier to catch  :)

The club had pretty good results at Assunpink. Only 8 teams participated on a foggy, wet morning. This was a 6 fish limit, 15" minimum. Winner had 3 for 9+lbs. Top 3 had 9+. We finished 3rd.  I caught all four of my teams fish. Power fishing a wacky Senko with an 1/8 oz weight. All fish hit on the drop. I was focused on getting as many casts as possible.  Swim jigs and shakey heads were also used by teams.

I will post full results and pics when I get them.

10 teams competed at the Canal. Typical Summer day with many small fish weighed. Adam S. had the only good one at over 4lbs( caught on the second cast). We came in fifth, plastics and cranks caught the keepers. Probably had over a dozen short fish. Sorry for the lack of photos(website issue).

No tourney this weekend so I hit a local pond mid Saturday morning after a front passed through. I only fished for 3 hrs because of the strong wind. Had three hits, all on a 5"wacky Senkos. One was a solid near 5lb chain pickerel and 3+lb largie.

Hi all, my mother in law lives in Mt. Laurel, she's right off Union Mill Road and Hartford Road.

There's a little pond there, I've caught bluegills with my kids, nothing else though.  Anyone know if has bass in there?

Mind sharing on what tackle?  I'm heading up to NJ this weekend, figure I'll bring some senkos and maybe some spinnerbaits.
