Anyone on here from the SNJ and is out and about fishing? Trying to build a group together of avid fisherman. I've been hitting up little and local ponds here and there. Last venture was to New Brooklyn; caught a small LMB and a nice chain pickeral two days ago.

I fish almonesson, blackwood, grenloch, mullica hill and a few secret holes. there are so many great places to fish and explore over there.  a lot of the time it's faster for me to head east to ur area than try to battle traffic north or west in pa.  i'll bring my kayak and fish anytime.

Vineland here, I fish mostly Menantico. Heading out tomorrow afternoon, just bank fishing though.  Only been out once which was a quick trip and no luck.  Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Here mixed review with Menatico; some have said that its a little sketchy with some random people hanging out in there. What's your take?

Depends, there can be sketchy people there, from what I could tell mostly there to swim (not allowed).  I fished there a ton last summer, never had an issue with anything or anyone.

Gotcha. Yeah I heard that people like to break into the cars and such of those who fish there. I've never really looked to much into it so I'll be there asap with the bass raider to check it out.

I have heard the same stories about menatico (cars vandalized). I like to fish Maple lake in Dorothy. Excellent lake I usually fish from the bank, but the beauty of this lake is you can access the entire lake if you have a jeep or truck with 4 wheel drive.

I'm from central Jersey, and I am planning head down to Lake Manaplan in Franklin Township tomorrow to fish opening day.

Went out tonight. Caught a huge bluegill on a jerkbait. I'll be going out tomorrow as well stay tuned.

I did pretty well today. Caught 5 bass. Nothing too extreme but it was definitely more active today. The wind definitely stirred them up.

My season started on the second week of March.  It's been very productive for the most part.  A silver Rapala Husky Jerk(HJ-10) and DT-4(Helsinki shad)  crankbait did most of the damage. The lakes- Union, Rainbow, Wilson, Newton, Bargaintown.

Plenty of 2-4lbers.

Fished this weekend after a few weeks of being too busy/bad winds. Did well with over 25 fish. I'm down near Ocean City.

Ugh! Wish I could get on a boat at Union and Wilson. The struggle is real for bank fisherman there. Can't seem to catch as often.

Great catches Gents! Let me know if I could pay to jump in with you if you guys have a boat lol!

agreed. I made a decision this year to only fish pre-spawn from the bank 25% of the time.  everyone knows the fish don't move shallow b/c of water temps but there is another major factor: lack of cover.  the banks are barren lands with no weeds for them to hide in.  i have been catching all my kayak/boat bass out of dead deep weed patches where they still have cover.  i just can't cast to them from shore.  all my shore fish have come from water that has deep water access. it actually makes it easier b/c i get to skip 90% of the shoreline and only fish near the creek channel or spillway.  looking forward to them coming closer to shore

The weather has been really funky as of late. Fished Saturday and Sunday and both days had a on and off pattern. Saturday was actually somewhat better. Sunday was a total off day. The cold nights have really driven the bass into a unusual pattern. Anyone else having a hard time reading the bass and the weather conditions that affected them?

It almost seems like the bass have not even gone into their pre-spawn antics. The bass I did catch had bellies but it just doesn't feel like the pre-spawn has really started...

Hopefully better luck this weekend...

Chilly morning at Parvin State Park today. Water temps started at 58 and jumped up to 65 when I left.  Saw a bunch of smaller males on beds. I caught six fish, one on a KVD 1.5 crank and the rest on a Z-man chatterbait.  Best was just over 3lbs in about 2' of water. No hookups on a jig.

Did you fish from the bank or boat? Been wanting to go out to Parvin but I'd have to hit the water from the banks, any idea what that's like there? Good bad?

Boat.  I only fish from a boat.  Bank fishing is really limited at Parvin. There is a small fishing dock near the ramp launch area.
