Super User Bankbeater Posted March 23, 2015 Super User Posted March 23, 2015 I've caught a drum and muskie on a rat-l-trap. Shad and catfish on a spinnerbait. Rocks, mussels, sticks, and trash dragging a jig across the bottom. Quote

Lol It's a pretty unknown offshore rock pile on a very popular bass lake, just happened to be a flathead that bit my bait. There's very obvious landmarks in the background though and not wanting to give the spot away. 1 Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted March 25, 2015 Super User Posted March 25, 2015 He's probably a hybrid. All the redear I've seen are more colorful. Still a huge fish though! Yep, hybrid, and a giant one at that! They must be a more agressive panfish, my brothers and I fish a pond stocked with hybrids, and we have caught multiple 11-12" fish there, some of them eat whole super flukes and trick worms! Quote
ABW Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Hooked onto this sucker while fishing a jerkbait. This thing was HUGE Quote

justafisherman Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I've caught plenty of catfish on cranks, but the first was the biggest surprise. Night fishing for bass at a local quarry that use to be the home of very big bass for northern Ohio when I hooked into what I thought was a new pb. Fought it for pretty close to ten minutes before I seen it was a flathead. Went 14-6. I was disappointed and happy at the same time since I grew up cat fishing. Found out later on some idiot put several 40+ lb flatheads from the Ohio river in there. If there's any big bass left it'd be a miracle. Quote
Weld's Largemouth Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Ok, I admit it. Not my most proud of story but I was fishing a heddon torpedo and daydreaming. I heard a splash, felt resistance and naturally set the hook....... 4lb Mallard. I thought things would be ok if I could just get it in and released. Things got interesting when it took to the air. You weighed it?!?! Quote
