wordty Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I ordered a pack of 5/0 hooks and when I got them home I realized how thick the wire is and therefore they are pretty heavy…when should I use this hook? It does not have a notch sticking out of it for holding a jig…it is the Bass Pro XPS Magna Superlock worm hook. I also need a recommendation for a good hook when punching thick grass with Biffle Bug type baits. Quote
Green Trout Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Use it for big rods and heavy flurocarbon Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 20, 2015 Super User Posted March 20, 2015 Use them in heavy cover. A great place would be when you're punching, or when you're fishing the nasty stuff when you're really going to crank on them and you don't want any hook flex. Quote

A good buddy of mine turned me to using Trokar flipping hooks. They are stout and incredibly sharp!! Quote
