Anyone have any news on ice-out at Raystown?  I'm going to be over that way the week after Easter and am wondering if it will be worth dragging the boat there from Lancaster.

The only launch without ice is Weaver Falls. However, with the lake being drawn down it is not accessible (to shallow). These photos are from 3/16.

Thanks for the pics.  Hopefully this wil be the last of the snow and cold.  I'm really hoping for open water.  I'm dying to get my boat in the water and that's going to be the first chance I'm going to have.

I think there will be open water, but also some patches of ice to navigate around.

Thanks for the pics. If you get by there again, keep us posted on the latest conditions.

I just got word that the lake is high enough to use the Weaver Falls Launch.

Its open water from Weavers down to about 7 points as of yesterday.  Some of the coves around James creek and Aitch were frozen or partially frozen yesterday.  Shouldn't be long now till its clear.

30 Boats fished the Fishing4five tournament yesterday and we all made it back to the launch without any "titanic" events though I banged around in the ice a bit.

A little ice north of 7 points. The patch has broken up for the most part. I made it out for a few hours today.

from mile 6 down is froze solid. patches of ice between there and aitch. highest water temp i found was 38.

Hopefully with the warmer weather this week the ice will be off soon. Thanks for the update

I guess that means the boat goes with me next weekend. First time to the lake so this will be a learning experience for me.

Lake is on fire. ton of big bass being caught.

I'm not sure I've ever seen "Raystown" and "tons of big bass being caught" in the same sentence

Coldsvt and I are looking to hit the lake for the first time ever on Saturday. We will be coming down from the north and were wondering if some of those with experience could recommend a launch? We will primarily be targeting lm but it wouldn't hurt our feelings to hook into a striper.

I wouldn't exactly say it's on fire, but i'll agree with the big bass part!

Fished Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday was brutal with wind.  Sunday was a much more pleasant day.  No fish either day, but spent time finding my way around for next time and knocking the cobwebs out of the motor.  Fished out of Tatman Run both days and made it up to mile marker 27.  Rain really colored things up on that end of the lake.  Water temps at 56 on Sunday.  Next time, hopefully less coffee-colored water and more fish.

Gonna bring this thread back from the dead for a new year. I was at the lake on Saturday and Snyders was frozen solid, but seven points was wide open and watched a steady stream of boats launching. I'm hoping to head down on Sunday with the boat.

Could some of you locals chime in if the northern part of the lake opens up? Hoping to launch at Snyders, but will run down to seven points if necessary.

Went out today. Tried Snyders Run first and its still frozen. Looked like open water about 300 yards away. So it'll probably open this week.

Ended up launching at Seven Points. Did more exploring than fishing since it was my first time on the lake.

At least one thing was the same as every other lake I've been on: boat ramps attract morons.
