i see these r on sale again. was thinking about picking up the 7' medium/fast for spinnerbaits/swimjigs/buzzbaits. anyone have any experience with that particular model? i notice they also have a medium heavy moderate in a 7ft as well. jw which would be better for these applications.

Thanks for posting this. I just picked up the 66 mf.

Everything I've read about them points to them being slightly stiffer than their rating. I think you will be fine with the mf for the applications you listed.

I also just bought the 66mf casting rod and will be using it for jerkbaits and plastics. I really like the other fenwicks i have.

I will be using it for weightless plastics most likely. I bet it's a pretty versatile rod though from what I've read.

Where at ?

Cabelas. It's a Cabelas exclusive rod. I've only seen good reviews on it.

Has fuji guides with alconite inserts and a fuji reel seat. Pretty good value for 89 shipped.

Thanks, I bought a night hawk from them but just the rod and I love it it was only 60$. But I can't find any more of them. Only one I have found come with a reel.

I have one. Got it last year on sale. It's got a great feel to it and its build quality is very good. At its $99 price point I'd rather a Abu Garcia Veritas, but being on sale, it's a great 'every day' rod. I believe there's a BPS PQ on it right now.

I had one (6'6" M/F) and sold it to my buddy.  Was more than happy with the guides and reel seat, and it balanced nicely with a 7 oz reel.  It was stiffer than what I envision a 'true' medium powered rod to be.  I threw spinnerbaits and chatterbaits on it and it did well.  The tip is a little softer than other rods, meaning even though its a fast action it has a little more flex to it than some other 'fast' tips.  I ended up going with a 6'7" M/F *** Black rod to replace it.  Again not a bad rod for the $59 sale price I snagged mine for, but for full retail I prefer the power/action of the *** currently.
