Been looking at eBay and everyone wants 150+. If I could score one for 100 I would be happy but definitely not paying 150. Lol I really just want to see if they're better then the g like people say and I like the looks.

I dont think you will find one for 100 unless its very rough cosmetically. Ive seen them anywhere from 120-150 on various forums like this one

I've been trying find additional 50e's and they seem to have gone up a lot in the last year. I was finding them in decent shape for $125, now people are paying over $200 for them.

Never seen one as low as $100, but I see them for $130-$150 a lot.  Never used an I model.  Guess that will be added to my wish list.

ive seen the E on fleabay recently sell for like 170-180. searching the fishing forums is the best way. i got a slightly used one from a guy on here for 125. looked basically almost new

but yeah if u can find em for 100-130 grab one. if not , the I is the way to go for sure.

Good luck finding a used one.  Most guys who have mid range & up Shimano's don't trade or sell them.  Take care of them and they will last forever.

My advice would be to save your pennies and pop for a new one.  Pop for a new Curado or better.  They last forever.

Citica E for $40-$60

add bearing under driveshaft ($3)

if you are compelled to swap the handle as stock Curado E is ~$30  Hawgtech ~$60

while the reel is broken down throw a smooth drag in it for $8

Now you have a Curado for under $100 it's just silver...

I have owned probably a dozen Curado E's and Citica E's.  The stock "performance" is nearly identical...  The Curado's stock "feel" is better (due to the bearing in the driveshaft and in handle knobs).  If you are just looking for a great "tool" then the Citica is a great option.

Walk up behind the guy and use a taser, score.  :) Otherwise, get your wallet out because just like the Chronarch B's...these green curado's are becoming the stuff of legend...and with that, legendary ideas of what they are worth. Yes, great reels but I gotta say my new Curado I has me wanting to order more. $142 range, no brainer.

The thing with the E series is they are so simple in design and easy to work on. The I isn't a nightmare just not as purely simple. The upgraded Citica is a great way to go to. The Curado came with a little better spool, but in use you'd not notice the difference.

Gotta keep your eyes on the forum for sale sections, ebay, craigslist. They pop up here and there, but like others said most guys hold on to them. Sorta miss all the mint 51e's i let go of...

Funny, I got mine new on an ebay special for $123, free shipping.  Two years later I could get more for it!

Yea! But you know "us" old guys are...??? Lol!

You could also try finding a new chronarch e on clearance. I was happy to pay 150 for a 201 e6. It might be out of the 100 dollar range but it's new.

Lol. I could sell almost all of the curados I own for more than I purchased them for. That's what is awsome about them.
