I hit the water on Monday.  No takers but honestly I could care less b/c it felt soooo good being on the water.  Both my main reservoir and smaller lake were frozen solid.  I worked a small creek and pond from shore (I learned jerkbaits are a pia from the bank when there are lots of bushes/trees around).  I couldn't bring myself to break out a senko b/c i was too excited power fishing for a hungry girl :eyebrows:

Went out on Tuesday to check out the water.  Water was at 41 degrees so we still have a little bit of time till they start moving up but its almost here!  Will see how this snow affects everything though.  ugh :cry3:

I still have ice on my ponds and lakes, creeks and river are open, but a little muddy from the rain.

I live in Pittsburgh. I went to a local pond Thursday last week and was able to walk on the 6" of ice. I went back last night and the entire thing was open. Spring is coming!

perkiomen creek in montgomery county and a pond in Royersford.  I fish montoco, delco, chester and some of bucks.  and i take my kayak to a lot of ponds in south jersey: almonesson, blackwood, grenloch, mullica hill.  what part of the city do you live/fish?

there a great fight i don't mind having them here

That is true but there's too much teeth up here. I would trade the pickerel for them.

With the 2 week forecast not showing nighttime lows above freezing until the middle of next week...I'm revising my prediction of "ice out" to April 8th!

...And Tom, those snakeheads are coming! Just take solace in the fact that our neighbors to the south seem to have adapted pretty well to the snakehead squatters ; )

but pickerel cost me way more money with their teeth than the snakeheads

i've always wanted to fish penn warner but i'm 'afraid'.  my uncle got a taste of a private club near his house and it 'retired' him from public lakes:) maybe i'll get up the courage this summer. maybe i can bribe you with lunch and a case of beer :eyebrows:

i'm not looking forward to the snakehead eating my smallmouth/largemouth but i am looking forward to eating them.  i hear their flaky white meat is amazing

lol its not that bad there, I've been going there my whole life and the fishing there is just like every other place, some days it can be amazing but others you might be lucky to catch one, and its pretty pressured too i still fish public lakes but  at penn warner the biggest caught there was over 8lbs so sometimes i do choose to go there over some places

I thought you retired ur rods for the married life!

prepare for swollen water.  it was 2 feet above normal on monday and that was before this last snow storm

East Branch of Perkiomen looks fine, just a little muddy, and the banks are a little slick.

I took three casts and was asked to leave. They just stocked it. LAME :-l
