Look into the boat rentals at Turkey Lake in Orlando right next to Universal Studios.  BPS sponsor's the boats and they are super cheap.  It is the best deal anywhere, and the lake has big fish.  You have to make a reservation for the boat.  I have done it at least 8 times.  Don't miss this deal.

I second Geo G on that. I have fished turkey lake has good bass fishing and like Geo G said, BIG fish, I've seen em. They also have some good size catfish up in there (Chicken Liver works, trust me). The lake is very clean the park is excellent and the BPS sponsored boats are in great condition. Though you only get a trolling motor it is enough to get you around. It is about 35 dollars for 4 hours if I am not mistaken. Well worth it, and reserve the boat with time, they tend to go fast.

I caught several catfish off the main pier there and something else which I couldn't tell you what it was. All I know is that it ran hard, had my medium rod flexed up, drag screeching and it took my line under the pier and snapped it. Not a bass for sure, I am thinking bowfin maybe? Not sure if they have em in that lake. But it was an adrenaline rush. Doubt it was a catfish though I did catch it with chicken liver.

I moved to Florida back in August and have been wondering about the Turkey Lake rentals. I don't want to hijack the post, but I am curious how far in advance do you normally have to make the reservation?  It's Thursday-Sunday from right and you can take a boat out from 7 - 11am?  The boat has to be back by 11am?  Feel free to just message me so I am not muddling up this post, unless you also have some info for the original poster.  Thanks

I have gone in March and have made the reservation a week in advance. I have caught several big bass in the lake, and it is a limited access lake so they are not over pressured. I have also had days when I caught 45 in four hours on wacky rigged trick worms. Senko's, plastic frogs, slow rolling spinnerbaits have also produced well. Good luck if you go!

Do you fish Yatesville Lake often? What do you catch there and what type of lures do you like to use there? I know the area well but have never fished Yatesville.

Rhuff. Yeah I fish Yatesville a fair amount. I have used flukes and done well. Carolina rig and square bills.
