frogflogger Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Does anyone have experience with this bait? Small tail with very subtle action - I haven't read anyone's experience with it. Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted March 18, 2015 Super User Posted March 18, 2015 I use the grass minnows all the time and love them. I was looking to grab a few of those with my next TW order to compliment the grass minnows and weedless gill on it's way now. Can't see them not working well- they are a Hudd after all! Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 18, 2015 Super User Posted March 18, 2015 I have them. You are correct, they are a very subtle type bait and quite light (don't know the exact weight). I fish them super shallow on MH spinning gear. In clear water I'm making very long casts (with Braid) right to the bank usually, or over a very shallow hump, and crawling it back to the boat. It does make a sweet mellow wake bait for those very calm flat quiet mornings. A-Jay Quote
Dogmatic Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I prefer the old jig top hook to the new weedless, but I use them a lot, especially on umbrella rigs. A good fish producer, that can be thrown, by itself with regular cranking gear. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 18, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 18, 2015 They're a killer in clear water around weeds. Bad thing is they aren't very durable. They about doubled in price the last couple years though so I've pretty much stopped fishing them. 2 Quote

Primus Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Great finesse swimbait, I prefer the weedless version . I throw it on a heavy action rod with 17 lb florocarbon, hooksets are no problem . Could probably get it done with a little lighter rod/ reel combo if need be . Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted March 20, 2015 Super User Posted March 20, 2015 I love them but probably won't be buying any more. $9 each now I think, they were only 5 or 6 when I first got them. You will get 20-30 bass per bait if you are careful when unhooking the fish. I only fish them in clear water, around hydrilla is the best way to do it but as long as you have clear water they work. I fish them on 12lb mono and a medium baitcaster Quote
