FrogTastic Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Hey all, Does anybody know of ANYONE who makes their own hollow body frogs? I have an idea of something that may work, but I won't be able to build that for a while (just bought some 20/0 circles - HUGE!). I've been searching for a while, but I can't find anyone who makes their own. My idea is: Make a wooden shape of a hollow-body frog, about the size needed Coat it plenty of times in liquid rubber, and let it dry Once it is dry, I will have to cut it down the belly, and then seal it back together (this will be a good time for placing hooks, weights, rattles, etc) I will build the original one with white rubber, and then use dyes to color it when it is finished Hopefully it works! Any ideas? Hook 'em up ~Drew Quote
Big C Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 What about making a silicone mold of your hand carved frog. Then use a two part flexible rubber matierial. Pour that in your mold and rotate ' til it's cured. Check out "Make Lure.com" they will have everything you need. They have a forum there maybe somone will have some more (better) ideas. Hope it works that would be cool to make your ow frogs. P.S. The above is not my original idea I heard it from Makelure.com. Quote

Super User Catch and Grease Posted March 23, 2015 Super User Posted March 23, 2015 Why did you just throw that into the middle of the post and what could you possibly need 20/0 circle hooks for? Kinda curious... 1 Quote

Sorry, I can get off-topic. A 20/0 circle hook actually doesn't look that big in the corner of a 4-5 foot shark's mouth. It looks tiny in a 12-foot shark's mouth. Other than sharks, mainly goliath grouper. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted April 1, 2015 Super User Posted April 1, 2015 A 20/0 circle hook is how I snagged my girlfriend. It only requires slight pressure for a good hookup rate. 1 Quote
