Super User bigbill Posted March 21, 2015 Super User Posted March 21, 2015 I only own one bass fishing book. The pursuit of giant bass by Murphy. A lot of it I learned on my own. But there's stuff for everyone. I read the articles here, watch the videos on you tube. I purchased every bass fishing video I could. I hammered watching them. Listen to watch each fisherman says in there video but also watch how the use the rod and crank the reel too. Now go out and try it. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted March 21, 2015 Super User Posted March 21, 2015 How long before we can add XXXX by Paul Roberts to our libraries? It'll be a bit yet. Hoping to contact publishers this summer. Quote

IntroC Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I have read a ton of bass books and the one I read over and over is KVD's Bass Strategies. Just a ton of good info in there on basic fish catching and why he does what he does. Quote

Super User MIbassyaker Posted May 14, 2015 Super User Posted May 14, 2015 Thank you all for this. I was going to post a new topic about recommended books, but this thread already has what I am looking for (and I'm just new enough to have missed it the first time around). Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted May 14, 2015 Super User Posted May 14, 2015 I'll second the mention of River Smallmouth Fishing by Tim Holschlag, which I've gotten a lot out of, especially in terms of reading rivers/streams, and approaches to take from a kayak. There's also Kayak Bass Fishing by Chad Hoover, which has good information about basic strategies for beginning kayakers who already fish, beginning bass fishermen who already kayak, or for beginners at both. Super User Jeff H Posted May 14, 2015 Super User Posted May 14, 2015 Hootie, that's quite a collection you've got there. Wow, I'll say it is! I bet he has the most impressive bass theme man cave in the country. Vintage gear, new JDM gear et al..... and a heckuva library. 1 Quote

Super User WRB Posted May 14, 2015 Super User Posted May 14, 2015 There is a lot of very worthwhile information on this site to search and read. My contribution was The Cosmic Clock and Bass Calendar; search key word Cosmic Clock. A few books missing from those listed are Don Iovino's Finesse Bass Fishing and the Sonar Connection, available from TW. Jason Lucas on Bass Fishing, and Dr Henshaw Book of Black Bass, both are vintage books worth having. Mentioned was the late Bill Murphy's In Pursuit of Gaint Bass, sales help Bill's family. Tom Mann's Think Like a Bass, good read. There is a overwhelming amount of books and information on bass fishing, try to avoid the product promotion stuff and stick with info on bass behavior.
