do you guys who tie your own jigs w/ rubber skirts ever have a problem w/ the rubber melting?

Why would the rubber melt?  You don't tie your skirt on while the lead is hot.  Anyway...rubber is making a comeback, particularly the silicone/rubber combo so you get the best of both worlds like the booyah a-jig and pigskin jig.

I rarely use the rubber because it is such a PITA! It never seperates like when you cut it so I end up spending 45 minutes seperating strands by hand.
