I would love to hear from anyone who has used this rod . I would be fishing it with 17 lb Florocarbon , typically using sinkers ranging from 1/4 to 3/4 oz and fishing Brush Hogs, 10 " Ribbon Tail worms and other larger soft plastics targeting largemouth  . How is this rod in terms of sensitivity for bottom contact lures in deeper water and hook setting power ? Any comments and opinions would be appreciated . Thanks

Call Gary @ The Tackle Trap and he can give you a lot of great info on Megabass rods. He fishes them. They're also an authorized dealer so you may be able to get a good price on your new rod.

Agree with the above Gary is a great resource for info/feedback on these rods and a great person to do business with.

I have the TV and like it, but I've not yet fully explored all its capabilities. I've used mine for jigs down to maybe 12ft, trigged creatures shallow, Carolina rigs, and top water frogs. It's definitely a powerful heavy rod with a big backbone. But it's taper makes it easy to cast and handle. I've never had an issue with hook setting power and all my Orochi XX rods have been plenty sensitive for me including this one. Keep in mind though that while its powerful it's not a traditional fast or xfast taper, once you load the rod up after a hook set it really loads deeper into the blank. Unfortunately I've not fished it in the ways you're describing so this is the best feedback I can provide. Oh it is a bit heavier in hand and not the most balanced rod, but I find it acceptable paired with a Chrinarch CI4+ or Curado I. I personally don't expect any 7' heavy powered rod to be something you could describe as 'light'.

Good luck but fair warning, the MB Orochis are addicting.

I would be trying to talk you into a rep sample NRX 894 for those duties. For bottom contact in deeper water, the extra length is a good thing. Alternatively, I'd consider the X4 Destruction.

If you're set on the XX line, certainly call Gary as others have advised. He's a really nice guy.

Gary is a great resource but he does not discount Megabass rods.

I talked with Gary before ordering my first Orochi and he helped me a great deal. I bought mine from The Tackle Trap and I received my rod in two days. It was very fast shipping, the rod was packaged very well and I am VERY happy over the whole experience.

I bought the 7'5 Medium Heavy Extreme Mission Type F and I can say with out question that the Megabass Orochi xx Rod line is fantastic. I am truly impressed and it takes a lot to impress me. The Orochi is just as Sensitive as the G.Loomis GLX my son in law fishes, much more sensitive than the Dobyn's Champion and a little less sensitive than my Kistler Z Bone. Fit and finish is amazing and it is one of the most balanced rods I've ever held.   I have a Team Lew's Pro reel on it and it is spooled with 15# Sea-Guar InvisiX Fluorocarbon line. This rod would be able to do all that you have listed and could do it very well, at a length of 7'5" it would make a great deep water worm and jig rod. I think it is one you should look into. I do not have any experience with the Tour Vesatile (yet) but after buying my first megabass I am now going to order either the Flat side Special, the Spinnerbait Special or the Tour Versatile. Good luck

I really enjoy my XX rods. The TV was my first Megabass product and I was super impressed with the fit and finish of that rod. I have only fished bottom contact lures with it and I would say it has plenty of sensitivity. I've only fished it in ~15' or shallower water. I've thrown t-rigs down to around 3/8oz and it was ok casting. I really like throwing a 1/2oz jig plus trailer. It just feels right when casting a jig and trailer around 5/8oz. I'm gonna try throwing frogs with it this summer. I do have to say that the EMTF is my favorite bottom contact rod ever! Just wish it was 7' - 7'2".
