I make one that's a blaze orange skirt, orange head, and orange blade, it catches fish.

Sounds good to me.

I bet it will work fine. I'm a huge fan of GYCB hula grubs in orange. Works well even in the crystal clear streams of the Ozarks. Caught a 21" smallmouth out of the Little Buffalo River with one.

I think it depends on when and where more. Orange and red lures do far better for me this time of year than later in summer and fall. Also do better in More clear than muddy water. Right now id swim it and expect a bite on riprap.

Do you think a steel leader would kill the action on it, because that thing is going to attract pike!

Remember the Orange bottom crankbaits are hotter than the rest most of the time. I purchased a off wall brand of spooks in Orange.

When leaving the mom and pop bait shop I asked myself why I just through $1.99 away? Early one morning I was sitting at the waters edge and tried the Orange spook. I added a shot of yum and let it fly. By my fifth bass while fan casting I remembered this was the last orange spook they had. As I got into bass fishing really heavy I read anything that was about bass fishing. I read some of Dr. Loren Hill of OK univ about his 10 years of testing in the lab with bass about seeing colors.

I'm a color freak now when it comes to different lure colors. The rest of the answers about lure colors is here in the articles.

Orange, sunfishes, bluegills, lower breast is orange. The ducklings legs look like orange?

On a slow bite firetiger can be your friend.

Dr Loren Hill, Color C Lector and the Combo C Lector. Then we have the newer high tech spike it color selector

I have tested the Combo c lector and found it works with the newer multiple lure colors not the older plain, bla solid lure colors that were numbered to the old unit. This is some research for you to do if your interested.

Orange baits were good to me last year during this time, went out today and caught my PB on a red/orange lipless. Go for it!

That could be a killer where I fish. We all say it imitates a craw, but only the bass know why they eat it.

I also grab anything that's on sale, on clearance, discounted too. Anything that's a different color or blend of color. Look at your Wal-Mart clearance section in the fishing department. Time to stock up on hooks, locking snap swivels, plastics, cranks etc. what ever they offer.

Right now the color is orange.
