ncbass Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I'm looking for a source of round rubber in a larger size than what the usual sources carry, i.e. Lurecraft, Netcraft, Living Rubber, Barlows. If you have ever seen a Mop jig made by Buckeye Lures the round rubber is quite a bit larger than the kind you can get at the listed sources. The key to a mop jig is that it flares out quickly and the material used by Buckeye lures does that since it is larger and more bouyant. Anyone have a source? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted July 8, 2008 Super User Posted July 8, 2008 When I looked at those Buckeye lures at BPS last night it looked like the regular round rubber that livingrubber.com sells? Allen Quote
ncbass Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 If so they have changed since I bought jigs in March. It was/is a larger round rubber. Seems I read an article by *** about how this stuff was imported from Japan ? Thanks ! Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted July 8, 2008 Super User Posted July 8, 2008 What I have always been told by the owner of Buckeye is that it is Living Rubber. But it is hard to find on the open market. I've seen it on E-bay a few times but it always goes for top dollar. I fish with Mop Jigs almost exclusivly and they are awesome jigs. Quote
ncbass Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 I agree they are awesome jigs, but I'm still looking for the larger diameter round rubber they are tied with. With regular round rubber you get the flare of an original mop jig but it is sooo much better with the rubber they use. Quote
