fishinphilly Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 do you ever put a trailer hook on them? Quote
HookdUP Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Nope ... But I do put a trailer ... Something that doesn't create a lot of commotion Quote
fishinphilly Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Nope ... But I do put a trailer ... Something that doesn't create a lot of commotion i usually use a super fluke jr as a trailer and color depending on what color chatter bait I'm using but thanks i was just wondering Quote
bassinyea Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I like to use RI skinny dippers as trailers for chatterbaits. Bite them off right behind the head. Never fished a rage blade before though. Quote
JGBassinAL Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Big fan of Power Team Lures Swingin Hammer, got best results out of it on the back of a chatter bait. I really like it on a chatter bait when I take the skirt off... 2 Quote

wytstang Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Gamblers flappy daddy and recently Zmans turbo craw have worked really well for me. Craws in general would work well as a trailer, the vibration of the jib causes the claws to flap really strong which bass seem to really like to bite at. Quote
AllTerrainAngler Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 If you use them what do you prefer. I mostly use a bruiser baits kickin frog but to me any soft plastic frog works. It makes it really easy to skip and more action. Quote
LApanic Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Black or white Horny Toad...if I want a little more lift to slow it down more I use a ribbet frog which pits of more action too. Also have used and caught fish with a fat Albert grub, zoom split tail and even a small white lizard from zoom 1 Quote

AllTerrainAngler Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I was using a buzzbait today before i went into work. Running it across the water then when id get over a bed id let it drop and with the frog the legs will stand up in the air. It was extremely productive for the short amount of time i was out today Quote

junyer357 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I normally have a coworker and fishing buddy make my spnns n buzzs. I get him to leave a few strandsbof the skirt long so it works some as a trailer as well as helps hide a stinger hook when im using one. I like a fat albert grub if i use a trailer. Id love a report on eufaula (al) for right now if yall have one. Im heading out st pattys day for the week there. Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 what ever is on sale or any hunk of plastic I have laying around with the tail cut in half (senko w/ split tail. ribbontail, grub, fluke, craw, brushhog, finesse worm etc work also). i have so much success with chatterbaits the trailer is insignificant to me. the blade is what calls them so i see no need for expensive/delicate trailers Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 this year i'm going to start using a toad in ponds and a white swimbait in lakes Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 Rage bug just seems like such a big bait for trailer. I love em though. I been using swing impacts almost exclusively. Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 14, 2015 Super User Posted March 14, 2015 Depends. If I don't want any trailer I will throw it naked. If I decide to add a trailer I will usually go with a Zoom fluke of different sizes, depending on the profile I want. 1 Quote
