Has anybody owned a Lews spinning reel? I recently bought several Mach2's and both broke on me. The guts gave out on my first one, so, figuring I bought a rare lemon from Lews (my luck) I went and bought a 2nd one.

Well, that turned out worse than the first one...It snapped off my pole while I was lining it up.

Now I'm out $200, and despite all the really awesome things I've heard about Lew's, I'm not sure I'm going to try them out again.

Unless 'recently' means over a year, you should be covered by Lews' warranty...and not out $200.

Going on 2 and half years with my Lews reels, and no issues.

I'm always going to be a diehard fan of Lews Tournament Pro reels. The tourny pro G's are amazing.

I have a custom pro slp. I used it some last year. It's really light and casts far and well. It's comfortable to use. I'm picking up some upper end diawa's and shimano's to test out this coming fishing season.
