Smokinal Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 So I wanted the ‘ol HJ to suspend a little better than it does; they have a tendency to float up. And I wanted a little head-down profile to it too. So, I took 2 of them, filled the tub, cut weights and taped them to the body until I got the right suspension and look; drilled a hole in them, stuffed the weight in, epoxied over the hole, mixed up some of my boy’s model paint and painted it over. Oh and I replaced the hooks with the KVD Ultra grips. And, of course, I kept 1 unmolested one just in case I screwed these up. Quote
lmoore Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Looks great, can't even tell where the weights are on the picture. 1 Quote
BobP Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Nice job but you also need to know what temperature of water you will fish them in. If you tested them in 50 degree water, they will sink in water that is much warmer. If you tested in 80 degree water, they will float in much cooler water. 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I've done something similar, but found that adding an extra split ring, or small split shot to the front hook was, not only easier, but allowed me to remove the added weight when needed. 1 Quote
