I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question. I had a post about this in December but I didn't have any picture to help with the description.

I need a standup seat. I have bad low back problems. Standing all day unsupported really aggravates my back.

I don't really know what to buy. I have a 2012 Alumacraft Pro 175. The seats that came with it have a bracket with a metal post that fit into another metal tube that screws into a hole in the deck. The seats swivel on top of the metal tube that screws into the deck.

Can anyone help me out with what each part is specifically called and what all I should buy? I have seen multiple types and I'm just not clear on it.

I have a better, higher quality picture if needed.

The plate is a seat mount and the tube is a pedastal. Yours are 3/4" pin and you need to make sure the pedastal is a screw in.

So I need the seat, a 3/4" pin type seat bracket, and a screw in pedestal? I think this is where I get confused. Am I looking for everything: part that screws into the deck all the way up to the seat? Or am I looking just for the seat down to the current pedestal I have?

I'm about 6'1" tall. Is there a recommended pedestal height for all people? A "one size fits most" as it were?

Your boat already has the pedestal base. That's what is screwed into the deck with the screws. From looking at the pedestal that you have on the deck, that is a threaded base so you would need a pedestal with a 3/4 pin "threaded". I would suggest getting a power pedestal as they allow you to adjust to you or anyone else who fishes in the front of your boat. I'd suggest something like this.

You can probably find what you need at Overtons.com. I went thru same thing last year and they have separate parts or whole package deal.

For my back the only solution was to get a decent chair.  The trouble with boats is that the chairs are all junk.   Nothing comes close to a real office chair in terms of all day comfort...

My advice would be to junk that boat seat and get a nice mesh office chair like this:

pull the casters off and it makes a very stable seat.   Lumbar support.... adjustable height... removable arms....   Mesh back is nice when it's hot.

Also the ability to move it around on the deck is something you will appreciate too.

You can find all of the stuff you need at Bass Pro, either in the store or on line.

You will need a new pedestal if you want a new seat that you lean against to rest your back. It must be longer than the current pedestal used for your sit-down seat. They make an adjustable length pedestal that are best suited for standing that you can also rest a cheek on or lean against(one size fits all), such as WiGuide suggested above.. You will also need a butt seat which is a seat without a back. The other end of your pedestal is a 3/4 screw in type, not a drop in type. You need everything that is removed in your boat picture. Does that clear it up.

Sorry to hear about your back pain.

Here is a seat that maybe A-Jay was wanting to point you to.  If not it is one I think you should consider...depending on what you are looking for.

I can attest to the prompt (and free) shipping as well as the quality of this product.  It looks as good as the seats that came with my boat.  And at $50 I find it to be a great value.

Hope this helps.
