heathen Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Seems like we need some rod building pics up in this forum, so here is my latest build. Just completed yesterday. I just got done building this rod and decided to put my new Revo Skeet Reese on it and use it for small texas rigs, light jig type of stuff. Old All-Star BAT815 blank, Fuji ACS seat, Batson Zirconium guides, Exotic Burl Cork with a Skeet Reese Revo mounted up with 20/6 braid. Quote
Super User flechero Posted July 1, 2008 Super User Posted July 1, 2008 Looks good! I like seeing people take time and do good thread work. I'm often guilty of rushing my personal rods and defaulting to stealth, to save time. The All Star 815 blank is great! I only have one left in my blank stash! I made the mistake of using them up on builds for others... And you are right, we do need some new rod building threads around here. I should be able to start another one next week... I am expecting a tube from fedex. Quote
heathen Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 Looks good! Thanks I like seeing people take time and do good thread work. I'm often guilty of rushing my personal rods and defaulting to stealth, to save time. I am normally guilty of the same thing and even kind of done that on this one. I should have made the chevrons about 2x the size they are, but I got in a hurry and wanted to get it done. I am not the fastest with thread wraps I should be able to start another one next week... I am expecting a tube from fedex. Cool deal, I just finished up a CTS Spinning rod that I marbled. Maybe I will get some pics of it up here later today. Tommy Quote
