For some reason I never even realized this toole existed and I'd love to get one. For what I am looking for... Must haves: carries at least 4 rods with reels mounted Mix of casting and spinning rods Securely holds rods of average diameter (standard M to H type rods) Bonus feature: Would be fantastic if I could mount it to a boat without requiring screws as I often go out with my friend in his little aluminum boat and it belongs to his grand parents so he doesn't want to drill and holes into it Carries 6 rods Offers some form of protection during transport I was wondering what some of you guys may be using to get the job done? junyer357 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 When im fishing from the bank its usually in a private pond so my truck isnt overly far away but far enough im not going to go back n forth. I try to wear cargo pants to hold extra lures and sissors n pliers in back pockets for easy reach. I hang a few extra worm hooks or spinnerbaits on my belt loops. To carry my rods i just keep the stick jackets on them and just carry 3-4 max In my hand. I normally know what i want to use and keep it simple. Quote

That's why I'd love something that could also be secured to the side of a boat (my friend's boat is a tiny little thing and when we both bring 3-4 rods it becomes mayhem) Quote

You could use rod socks or just twist the line around the rod to keep it from getting tangled. You could probably clamp one of these to the side of the boat using the pockets or the hand straps. Clamp one side to the gunnel with some spring clamps and leave it partially unzipped. It should keep things a little more tidy. Quote

Thanks! Modified my Sully Mfg. LLC Rod Tote to be more efficient and better hold my fishing rods. Rods would pop out of the original clips when carrying them and when stored on my buddy’s bass boat. Switched out the original 4 rod clip holders with 5 spring loaded rod holder clips. Mounted the spring clips to a strip of plastic cutting board and mounted it to the rod tote using the flat side of the wall mount clips that came with the rod tote. More secure now and also added a handle. I’m working now to install a receptacle so I can install the rod tote in my fishing rod holder receptacle. I currently place the rod tote next to the passenger seat and secure it with a Velcro strip to the side rail of my buddy’s Stratos 268 bass boat. I can easily select a rod and put it back so they stay neat, protected, organized and at the ready. 🤠🎣👍 2 1 Quote

If I had that plus a shoulder strap, it'd probably be just right for some of the bank fishing I do. Quote
