FlipSide Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 So last night I was outside messing around in my new to me boat and decided to get the electronics out to see if i could learn some more about them. I have a 898 and a raymarine dragonfly 7, the dragonfly is at the bow and powered on fine, no problem. But when I tried to power on the 898 it wouldnt come on. I have no idea how the wires are ran to the unit and plan on checking it out once I get off work but was just looking for some suggestions on simple things it could be...? I checked all the connections on the battery and they all seemed fine... I havent charged the cranking battery since I got it 3 weeks ago, but its a brand new battery and I havent ran the boat yet. Im going to get a voltmeter tonight to check if the power cord going to the unit is getting power since I need one anyway. So does anyone have any simple things it could be? Any help is greatly appreciated. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted March 12, 2015 Super User Posted March 12, 2015 #1. Is the 898's power cord extended directly to the battery with at least 16 guage wire--larger is better? #2. Is the battery fully charged? Quote
