Chris-W Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Hi! I'm looking for a clear coat/leak sealer recommendation for my Pelican bass raider. I must have a small leak because over the course of a year, my Pelican Bass Raider pontoons will fill up with water. Hoping to apply something to the bottom that seals any minor leaks and doesn't have a color (clear). Thanks for any suggestions! Quote
tnt2671 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 my sons friend has a raider and if you can't see any visible damage , i would first check the junk plugs they put in the front of each pontoon he had same issue and i gave him 2 real plugs problem solved. i'm not saying this is your problem but definitely check them or just change them out. Super User WIGuide Posted March 12, 2015 Super User Posted March 12, 2015 I used to have a Bass Tender, which isn't exactly the same, but those would collect water inside the hull due to condensation. You usually had to drain it once a year or so. Not 100% sure this is what's happening with your's, but I'd look into it. Quote
Chris-W Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 The pontoons were almost half full of water, so not sure that condensation could've caused that but thanks for mentioning it! I'll have to check the plugs, even though they ride out of the water most of the time. Is there any sealer spray or paint type product I can apply just in case there is a pin hole leak? Quote
Bassin_0502 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Don't know of anything clear, but I would think a spray can or two of gutter sealant would solve the leak problem if that is where the water is coming from. Tape the side of the hull to keep a neat edge. Quote
