We were out on our own for the first day from shore. Then we fished with 2 different guides. Capt. Craig Korzynski for snook, and on Okee. And Capt. Mark Hall in miami for the peacocks. Both were recommendations by our good friend Ernie. We had an excellent experience with both guides. Quote

Ill tell you what man, I've caught many species in my life on many incredible waters... and the Peacocks definitlely make top 3 favorite catches. The best way I can describe it is that pound for pound they fight much harder than largies: A two pound peacock puts up a fight comparable to a 3-4 pound largmouth, and more erratic. The peacocks are super decisive when it comes to what baits they hit and how they chase/follow the bait. but once they are on its game time. When they are out of the water they shake the whole time and rarely settle down to take a picture. (you can keep them out for a lot longer) If you notice in my footage, the release shots are always really quick because they just take off. Quote

Living in Florida I've caught hundreds of peacocks, they do fight better than bass. I love targeting them, more for the challenge of sight casting than the fight. They do put up a nice fight for but most aren't more than a few pounds. They are a nice treat for a freshwater fisherman that hasn't caught them before. 1 Quote

Being from South Fl, I have been fortunate to have caught my fair share of peacocks. They are very strong fighters, and there is no quit in them. 1 Quote
