PP is good. PP slick 8 is fantastic. I get a few years out of most reels, just cut off the last 30 yards a season or so. Never had any problems. Keep us posted with updates, if you had guide issue or not. Could just be a bad lot of line

I use Stren Sonic Braid. It's fairly quiet, stands up to abrasion more than most, and retains it's color fairly well. We've been useing it for the last 5 or so years without a complaint. Brian.

I to like the stren sonic braid. I found it super cheap on the auction site and gave a few spools a go. I have been using the same line for three years. The suffix performance braid is my other first choice. I like and use them after using 832/ppss8/pp and I lile them better. I am curious about the 8 carrier tuff line and may try that some day.

Never had a problem with PP. Most of my reels are spooled with PP regular. I have bought 832 to try out though. Just waiting for the season to start to fish it!

Have I ever had a lure go flying, sure I have but it's never been the fault of the brand, something caused that line to have weak spot.

I have tried many brands both 4 and 8 carrier, I don't find noise to be bothersome or even that noticeable.  The only problem I ever have with braid is tangles or wind knots, does not happen very often with heavier lures.  A few months ago I spooled up with 10# US Braid, very cheap, I like it as well as anything I have ever used.  I use this spinning outfit nearly everyday using inline spinners, have yet to have a wind knot, I'm impressed.  Same case scenario with other lines, windknots left and right.

So impressed I spooled up 2 of barracuda rigs with 20# braid, this will be my line of choice until proven otherwise.

I'm fairly green, but I've been using PP and sufix 832 without any problems. I find 20# 832 better for spinning gear than 20# PP. I also have some Sufix performance braid to try this year.

This is good info, placing an order on Walmart, thanks.

Seguar Smackdown.  I have it on 80% of my reels.  One reel has Power Pro super slick just because it was available locally and I needed line.  I definitely like the smackdown better.

Is there a braid that has not had a color dye added? Just the natural color of the fiber?

Seems like Spiderwire Ultracast Invisi-Braid & Sufix 832 Braid Ghost are at least two I've seen that appear to be Dye free.

I have Not fished either however.

PP #15lb. for Spinning (best compromise between too light #10lb. and too heavy #20lb.)

PP #30lb. for Bait Casting (light cover ; open water ; top water)

PP #40lb. for Bait Casting (moderate cover ; where abrasion might be a factor)

Using all above in Hi - Viz Yellow + FC or Mono leader .

I got slick 8 powerpro in blue. Why? Because I felt like hell yeah blue line and it's super smooth. I have zero compliants with powerpro. I just switch my line every year because it sits in the garage during the winter.

Suffix 832 Gohst, I believe A-Jay is right,,, it appears to me to be dye free

After using suffix 832 in 10, 20, and 30 pound, I can never go back to power pro. It has been about two years now, and have no regrets.

Along with the above mentioned two lines, regular PP comes in a white color as well. Been fishing it on a couple spinning reels and it's great. To me it seems to be ever so slightly softer or more limp than the green PP. Could just be my imagination though.
